New Politics & Religion Forum
I bet you thought that you'd never see the day when I would put the politics forum back up. Last time we tried this it lasted less than 24 hours before we had to take it down. Well, I'm ready to try again.
I try to be as open minded as possible on this site and always listen to feedback. The issue of politics and religion is a hard one though. On my end it leads to a lot of problems from people who get a little too into the topic. Also, I get a lot of feedback both for and against the idea of allowing this to take place on ContractorTalk.com. The biggest issues is when politics spills over into other trade topics. Anyways, I hope that we have come up with a solution that everyone can agree on. We have a new sub-forum of the off-topic area called Politics & Religion. This forum follows the same rules as every other forum on this site such as respecting each other and not attacking another member. However it is different in one way.... The Politics & Religion forum will not show up when you click on "new posts" or "today's posts"... so the only way you will find the content is by going into the forum and looking for it. My hope is that this will allow some people to ignore the topic who don't wish to participate and allow others to join in who really enjoy it. Well, there you have it. I'm giving it another try. Let's make it last longer this time

Nat, I think that you may have found the solution. No whining or crying if you went looking for it.

Re: New Politics & Religion Forum
I think that is a good move.
Contrary to popular belief one can learn a few things if civility remains somewhat prevalent. The absolute hard core folks will continue to shout, and cut and paste. We can ignore what we want and view what we choose. Thanks

Re: New Politics & Religion Forum
If it takes off, you can open two more sites! Will have to find a on-line site as a reference tool for the religion one.

Re: New Politics & Religion Forum
Maybe I have to post outside of the Political area,
Nate where were you Dec. 20th around 7:40pm? cause me thinks there was some movement and renaming of areas. Could you tell us your feelings about the politcal and religious thread and its current state?

Re: New Politics & Religion Forum
for a couple of minutes a bunch of threads that could be considered very irrelevant were placed in the Religion and Political area and it was renamed to Religion and Political, (And Other Childish Stuff)
New threads could not be started, in that section.

Moderators also cannot delete posts. They can only move them or do a soft delete. I've checked and cannot find ANYTHING like what your saying. I'll keep looking but I have no idea what to tell you.

Re: New Politics & Religion Forum
I'll check the log again but I'm looking at tonights log and I see nothing.
The only other option is if a user posted a thread and then changed the thread title. I think you have 5 mins where you can change a title before it's final. But that doesn't explain why you couldn't post and the thread would still be there.... just under a different name. I have no idea what to say. I'm sorry.

Are you sure you weren't looking at "off topic" and thought you were looking at "politics and religion"? I do see where the white christmas thread was moved... but it was moved from vehicles to off topic where it belonged by slickshift at 16:29.

I also recieved a phone call today from Minnesota, and I think that it might in some way be related. Call me crazy but the only ties I have to Minnesota are from poss. people on this site.
