New Instrument

Just picked this up off craigslist for $100.

Its a 5' baby grand made by Melville-Clark. Its roughly 100 years old and its been restored about 25 years ago.

Now I just need to learn how to play it lol.

Make sure the pin board ain't cracked. That's the #1 problem with old dried up pianos. Need some nice veneers done to that thing?

Re: New Instrument

It was restored about 25 years ago. The mover said it was in great shape, besides the exterior with its nicks and scratches here and there.

But I like it like that. I like antique looking furniture, and probably will not do anything to the exterior. Its getting tuned on the 15th after it acclimates to the environment.

Im not really sure if the keys are ivory or not. They look fairly new, so I imagine they were replaced when it was restored.

MELVILLE CLARK
This name is one of the oldest and best-known names in the piano trade, dating hack to 1875. Melville Clark pianos are now manufactured by The De KaIb Piano Company of De KaIb, Illinois. The line consists of a small grand piano and an electric expression grand piano. These instruments are of excellent quality.

I play piano and have a Young Chang baby grand.
You got a great deal.

Hey silvertree, where did you find that info?
