Need Some Help.

Hi, its Josh. Most of you prob remember me. I know that I said that I would leave but I need some help from you guys.

I got a job working with a masonry, electrical, plumbing contractor. (Weird combo) I am doing labor work, which is fine. But he said that if
I pass this test he makes up he will double my pay. He usually gives it to his guys that have experience.

Right now it is like $6 a hour. I am guessing the test will be hard, but he said no questions on the things about the NEC like loads and amps and things, but there will be things about wire types and panel placement.

So I was wondering if you guys could give me some random question that you think might be on there, things about general masonry( Like ratios and things, terms) Plumbing and electrical. I will leave after wards but I just need some input.

I got some books on it all and I am reading them and studying and things.

So if you guys have anything could ya post it.

Thanks
Josh

Re: Need Some Help.

Hey snap Here are some question for a 1 year app. the question are for the Uniform Plumbing Code.

1) what are the trap arm lengths for 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2, 3, and 4 inch?

2) what is the mim size vent pipe for a water closet?

3) If you have a 4 inch pipe strait pipe 20 feet long and it is full of water how much would it weigh and how many gals of water is in the pipe?

Looking forward to the answers
Good Luck

1. This is defiently wrong but all I could think of with out looking but as long as there is a trap for the fixture, the arm can be any lenght? O that pipe would have to be angled 1/4'' per foot for drainage?

2. The minium size vent pipe for a water closet is 3'' ?

3. For 20' of Sch40 4'' pipe, the volume is 3012.914ci=49,373ml and that would be 13.4 gallons? and Roughly 10lbs a gallon? That would be 134lbs, plus the weight of the pipe which is 2.118lbs perfoot=42.36lbs for the 20' and all together is 176.36lbs for the whole pipe includeing the water? (all thoses potato cannons paid off) And I new that all off the top of my head, meaby I should do that with my history. O and the ID of 4'' Sch40 pipe is 3.998''

Thanks for all the help

That was great try

The trap arm leighns are as follow: 1 1/4 (2 feet 6 inches) 1 1/2 (3 feet 6 inches) 2" (5 feet) 3" (6 feet) and 4" (10 feet)

The mim size vent for a water closet is 2 inch if the cross area of venting has been met in the house

you got this one half right 13.05 glas ( your 13.4 is close) and one gal of water weighs 8.33 lbs so the pounds would be 108.71

If you would like any more questions just let me know
have a great day,

I'm glad to see you back! I also suggested you as a mascot. You're an exceptionally bright kid trying to enter an adult world, I had the same problem. BTW, you should have known the weight of water and it's specific gravity. Much of our current system is based on ancient standards.
