Re: Motorcycles...

Been riding for 34 years. Raced the Circuit (125 Class) in New York in the early 1980's.

Was involved in a Street Bike Rear - End Collision in 1984.

Have not ridden as an "occupation" since.

Am about to buy another RM 250 (first since 1986).

Will build a Street Sled soon.

It may be crooked, but you would not like to be on the receiving end of any kick I deliver with it.

Dang Malco, how long did it take that to heal up? And that was from the rear-ender?
I haven't owned a scooter in some time. I've had about ten, and when I got discharged from the Air Force I rode all over the country for about three months, even up into Canada.
Sold my last one in '89 after a spill that gave me a road rash to remember.
Lately I've had my eye on one of those BMW police bikes. Probably won't do it, but I do get the urge now and again.

Re: Motorcycles...

Still have my motorcycle classification on my drivers license, but haven't had a bike in about 5 years. I've had both street bikes(Yamaha FZ1 and Honda CBR6000) and dirt bikes(Honda 450's and 250's). I've spent a lot of time at Glamis since about 1985. Next bike will be a Harley type bike once this recession subsides and the credit card debt is gone.

Re: Motorcycles...

I suspect you'll find that those around here who don't ride, did, for the most part. I was heavily into it for years, but kids and the nature of my work pretty well put an end to it.

Maturity=burnt out youth. <sigh>

On the roads, I prefer a nice v twin cruiser.

Off road, I prefer human power and a mountain bike.

Re: Motorcycles...

Used to....I have a nice, custom painted V Star 1100 Classic that was ridden 30 miles last year.....to the shop for service and oil change, and back....what a waste. I am always looking for a trade....kills me to have it sit there.

Re: Motorcycles...

Yes, I love to very much, but don't make enough time for it like I used to, especially when I get some time off, it usually is because of lousy weather.

The bike I am most comfortable on is my 98 Heritage Springer, but for looks and show, I have a 95 Fat Boy, and for top end speed, i have a 78 Shovelhead.

Pictures of the Springer are in a thread from last May, talking about the local Little Angels ride. I'll dig them up later when I stop in at the office to sign the paychecks.

Re: Motorcycles...

I love riding, lucky enough to own 2 bikes. In July I was hit from behind by someone not payin attention, I ws rolling about 10mph...they were going about 40.

I still do it every chance I get, it is my escape from..everything.
