Re: Moderators..

Somedays are diamonds, somedays are stone.....Micky Gilley.

For the most part, things go pretty smoothly and a lot of our members help out with the basic stuff like telling folks not to type in CAPS.
We do get spammers and some invaders. I guess that because you haven't noticed them, we are doing our job pretty well.

In answer to your second question; Without any moderation this site would be toast within 2 wks. to a month. Bad moderation could amount to the same thing.

Re: Moderators..

The moderators here are amazing. If someone reports a post it's usually gone before I can get to the site to check it.

No doubt, without them we would have a mess on our hands.

Re: Moderators..

It depends, Teetor. I belong to a public board that has had little to no moderation for the last 10 years. It seldom gets out of hand, but it does consist of a narrow group of people, even though the members number in the thousands.

The best type of moderation is self moderation, though that is a fine line to run.

Ts, I belong to a few of the same, mostly involving universities dealing in subjects that few care about. Malcontents/invaders can be dealt with harshly.

Re: Moderators..

We do very little moderation actually. This site has some folks that will tend to push and pull at the rules, but for the most part, folks use this site in the intended manner.
