OK now, Long Island is about as far as you can get from the border! "Booming Hispanic Population"??? I take it they are talking about the south of the border illegals, not the legal Purto Rican hispanics that are rightfully here. The article specifies Central and South America. I mean, we are kinda used to it in CA NV NM TX. Isnt it too cold in Long Island? "BOOMING"??? So are they "booming" in Canada too? Cause that would be TWO boarders away, and even COLDER.

You need to look at a map of the east coast. Long Island ain't nowhere near the Canadian border. You haven't even got to New England.

I could go on all night about immigration, so don't get me started. Boston area there are many Portuguese (Brazilian) and Hispanic. You get up into where I live in Maine and there's a booming (yes BOOMING) Ethiopian population.

legally as far as I know. There's always going to be a few. One of the city mayors here asked them to please tell their families to slow the immigration since it's taxing on the services. They ran him out of office for not being accepting.

The schools here are getting away from teaching French as a second language and are pushing Spanish. This is unbelieveable to me, Canada is like 100 miles from here and Mexico is how far? We just keep coddling the Mexicans, soon we will be the minority!!!

That's a fact, it's happening across the country, and at great expense to the citizens of this country both in money and in crime.

LI is nothing, NJ's been hit so hard they have mobile consulates. All non-citizens can actually get their paperwork done using NJ taxpayer's money. From state to local government, they are all for it. When everyone starts feeling the pinch, one side is going to unite and really take over. Too bad it's not going to be home team.

Don't just assume that just because they speak Portuguese they are Brazilian, Ever been to New Bedford Mass? or Fall River? thats where my Portuguese wife is from. Everyone that i know from there that speaks Portugese has family originally from the Azores or Portugal itself.
