Life Is Good...
Yes, the snow is falling, 30 inches up in some of the ski resorts this week. This will be a good weekend to take our skis in to get the bases P-texed, we've got two seasons of gouges the size of the grand canyon on our skis so it's time to break down and let a professional do his magic.
Then it's time to plan for the inagural offical start of the 05/06 ski season! Which weekend will it be? Don't really like to go up in the month of November or around Thanksgiving, while the resorts are open, most are open only in spirit, with only a couple of lifts and 30-40 runs available. Don't cry too much for me, this is a task I take upon myself every year and do it in good spirit with my east coast ice skaters compatriots never far from my thoughts, er - I meant east coast skiers, sorry it slipped.

Mike, believe this or not, I have done some snow skiing. Most of my experience is on the east coast ice slides but I did get out west a couple of times. If I ever had a real desire to snow ski, I would go west.

Re: Life Is Good...
If that desire ever turns into reality, let me know, I'll spend some slope time with ya if you trade it back for some bone fishing time. I was supposed to be in Key West a month ago, but Wilma closed the port. My bone fishing excursion got nixed. I'm so itching to bone fish it isn't even funny.

Re: Life Is Good...
Mike, I predominantly fish offshore and for meat. I also surf fish and do the rivers for Snook, Trout, Tripletails, Flounder, Pompano, etc.
Personally, I'd rather clean one big fish as opposed to a pile of small ones. This will really tick you off. I used to Bonefish back when I was flying a LA200. I could see the muds from the air (Grand Bahama flats), and set down upwind. I'd drift into them while sitting on the wing to keep my profile down. Dad crashed this plane Dec. 22 1973, no survivors. My e-mail address (N39385) are the tail numbers. For md, his name was Benjamin Jessup Teetor, all of the rest of the info is above.

Colorado has 3 sets of winter weather. Western slope - on the Utah / Colorado boarder - pretty warm and sunny all winter Mountain weather - tons of snow, but lots of blue sky days of breath taking beauty. Front range weather - (where Denver is and about 75% of the population of Colorado) the winter weather will be snow on Tuesday, by Thursday there is no trace of it, the skys are blue and people are playing golf again. Anytime you see any storm report about the weather in Colorado it is usually a report based on the mountain weather. I always get phone calls from friends or relatives during the winter asking about how much snow we have on the ground because they see a weather report that shows a big storm. They find it hard to believe when I tell them it was 60 and we have no snow. The national weather like the national media likes to focus on the sensational aspects of weather. |
