I've kite surfed. I'd say that's real. I've seen similar experiences first hand. My first experience, I got dragged 30 feet down the beach and into the side of a truck.

And I can say that because as an extreme sports enthusiast, I've been there, done that.

In all seriousness though being involved in extreme $h!t all my life, I like to take alot of the drill/redundancy/train/inspect/etc mentality to these activities as opposed to finlys spicolli/dousch nozzel attitude, weather its kitesurfing in brazil or 300'sw in sat mode. Accidents like these ruin it for calculating and articulate folks everywhere else. hope "k" pulls through ok. I know the squalls down in fla from a tropical depression let alone a hurricane down in fla can be extreme like averaging 20-25 sudden gust to 40-50= but solid noreasters up here blowing a solid steady 35 with the right size kite is pure bliss
