Just a reminder-
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I'm doing my part-I'm going to offer free breast exams with every purchase, bid estimate...to customers, non-cusromers....hell, just about any woman that asks.*
Offer open to legal residents of the US only. No purchase necessary. Must be 18 or older. Proof of ID is required. At least one breast required to participate. Senior citizens will be referred to a medical professional more qualified to address their needs.

Hilarious, but wrong!
You even have a full legal disclaimer in there - will that hold up in court?
Anyways, be curious to see if the mod's let this last...

It is a good time to nag your
wife, sister, mother.......
Make sure they are a survivor,
not a victim!

While I might have found CC's posts amusing at times I don't think this is the place for humour.
When cancer hits it can hit HARD and change lives forever or end them.
You think I wan't some doc checking out my wifes boobs?......
Think she does?.......
She gets checked every 6 months.......

Can we all just lighten up a bit. What makes life worth living if you cant laugh at things once in a while? I agree cancer is a serious issue, but I think hes just trying to make light of a serious subject and get a laugh or two. Lets all just relax a bit.

Agreed. It's silly, to me, how people think that by "acting serious" you can change it. Bull****. Doesn't change it....just makes worse imo.
Yes, I have experienced it in my own family, so I have a reference point
We are ALL going to die someday, and we are ALL going to experience difficult times at some point in our lives...I'd rather make it easier than harder to talk about, but maybe that's just me

My thoughts exactly. My OP was not intended to offend. If it did, you'll just have top get over it.
I have winners and losers in the cancer wars in my family. And there is not much I consider off-limits when it comes to humor. Laughter is the best medicne, so they say.
Now, whether you find my OP funny or offensive, answer me this:
Is it more likely to stick in your head and are you more likely to tell your friends and loved ones about it more so than if I had just posted "HEY-October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month"?

Never said that you can't make
a home exam fun for thee and thine.
It is good to give a loved one a push though.
(They nag us enough don't they?)
Sorry but the last friend I lost to this
was just a couple of months ago,
too many before her too.
If I whack you Charlie, you'll know it.

Depending on the situation, young with children ,or older and had a good life, both are tragic with their own sorrows and life changes.
But for the victims, the quality of life is most important.
Lost a sister to this disease recently and she set the pace.
When she lost her hair from chemo, she would wear a hat.
The first time I saw her this way,she removed her hat,and bent down to reveal a happy face painted on the top of her head.
Most of the victims don't want to be reminded of their fate, just want to enjoy what may be their final days.
She made it through the first bout and helped organize a local awarness group, doing yearly marchs for donations.
She is now remembered for her fighting spirit ,and the marchs are continuing under the direction of a close and dear friend whose sense of humor makes it easier to be approached by those that need to have the examinations but couldn't afford the tests.Monies are for those that need $ for exams.
Humor can be a positive and ice breaking path for others to feel comfortable enough to ask for help.

The best one I've heard of was a guy who ran an ad in the paper or something and alerted women in a town that he would be cruising the streets in his "mammographmobile". He gave a schedule of different streets and their respective times when their occupants should have their breasts pressed up against a window facing the street. They would have a "drive-by" screening and would then be notified of the results by mail.
Then the guy drove around and there were a surprising number of women with their breasts exposed and pressed against windows and storm doors facing the street.
This might be an urban legend, but I think it is worth perpetuating.

Agreed. I was one with a serious comment. I could go delete it but..well..I said it...There it is....

Well, I joking aside, I did some stealth ninja exam on my wife while she was doing dishes and just about got threw out of the house. Apparently I dont meet the criteria needed to be a breast examiner.

And she still married you? Might have had better luck after YOU did the dishes.

Just a thought...
Has anyone here had to press their stuff against some kind of "ballogram" and then had a Doc poke around with stuff? ....
I went about 12 yrs. without a physical and when the doc said "I need you to drop your briefs so I can check you for a hernia"
I said" No, ... That's OK I'm all set... no symptoms"
Doc"you don't want me to check you for a hernia?"
Me "no I'm all set"

I'm not very good at internet stuff but have to say that your last statement in this post is something that will stay with me....
