The perp is dead. Her mom died of ovarian cancer. They'll never catch the killer unless they dig her up. Just my opinion based on her actions after the fact and her demeanor in interviews.

I love how folks can make all sorts of assumptions from what they see on TV or read in the papers.


What galls me about this case is that it is such media fodder. They pick the pretty pagent girl and make her a poster child.
What about all the other children who are killed, assualted and abused every day? What about missing and kidnapped children? What about children physically and emotionally abused by their own parents every day?
NO, we get the media sensationalism of the pagent girl.

My opinion should not be a reflection that this is ANY less tragic than any other case. It absolutley is so. BUT, it is NO more either!

My first thoughts were this guy wants to be in jail here and not in Thailand. They say they have him tied to the scene and have been following him for a couple months...So who knows

I'm with DaveH, I'd say anything to be extradited from a foreign jail. Here, you get 3 hots, a cot, exercise time, TV, weight room, hoops, spending money, you name it. I can't imagine what a Thai jail must be like. I'd tell them that I knew where Hoffa was to get out of there.

I haven't had a chance to 'catch up' on the case yet, - - with this new news, - - but I remember I felt that the Mom at least 'knew' who did it. Seemed like it was either her, or someone she was protecting, - - just seemed like way too much inside information in that long rambling ransom note . . .

Let the DNA decide. He's just a suspect at this point. A messed up in the head suspect from what I hear, and I can't turn on the radio out here without having to hear about it, talk radio is happy again, they almost ran out of something to talk about now that Lebanon isn't smoking on a daily basis.

Yeah but from what I read the only reason the Thai authorities were holding him was because we requested them to. I read that he contacted the mother (wrote her a letter) before she died and the police got involved again and started tracking him down. I don't think the Thai police arrested him for anything he did there so he would not be in a foreign jail if he had not made contact with the mother.

It is very bizarre. He has been in jail, in the U.S.. before for having child ****ography. He could be purposely telling different stories to cast doubt on his cofession and give him a defense. I guess we won't know until they do a DNA on him and match it to what was under the little girls fingernail, Etc.

I guess he left the country in 2001 before they could lock him up for more child **** violations. He was convicted after he left the country so he should have a pretty good prison sentence coming to him. I say put him away and throw away the key. And if he did this then execute him

DEFINITELY....did you guys see the Thail Police Captain interviewing press conference with the U.S. Marshalls?? I think he was wanting to try out for "Last Comic Standing", he pretty much stole the show. Gave out way too much info in my opinion too.

What is sad to me about thinking on this is that this little girls life STOPPED--I remember reading about it as a freshman in college before it was a big deal thinking, "this is going to be a big deal." Right now, she should be 17. She should be walking around malls and guys like us should be getting punched by our wives/girlfriends for looking. She should be thinking about where to go to college. That is what is sad.

IMHO, moms dressing up their kids like big Barbie dolls and putting them on stage is just as bad as dads forcing their kids to be superior at sports. That, in itself, is a form of child abuse.

I agree...the only thing I thought about the Mom was her exploiting of the child in the beauty pagents, etc.

I saw a neat documentary
a few years back about the inside of the investigation, and a lot of suspicion was focused on the family due lack of suspects? The producer of the documentary was contacted by the suspect and revealed details about the case that were not public to anyone (supposedly) and he tipped off the police.

I really wonder if this guy did it, or maybe he is confessing to a crime for the sake of a sick mind. The documentary kind of pointed to a local there who had died since, and somehow been implicated. Anyway...we will see.
