In their defense, doesn't it feel like something that's going to be shot into space should be able to tip over? I mean, sure, space doesn't have gravity so things can be built to different standards, but even the nice things I build I like to think can take a good punch.

They can. That's why they are so expensive. For instance Mercedes Benzes, Hummers, and Range Rovers are some of the most pampered vehicles on the road. But they were designed to take a beating, thank you for it, and ask for another.

As for that satellite, I'm guessing this is bad because the parts probably have very strict tolerances and the alignment of the screws and bolts have to be within a few hundredths of a degree in order for it to stay on the correct tradjectory.

Then again, if they just lifted it back up on the platform and didn't say anything, it might work just fine.

Everything on there is now suspect.

Not to get too far off topic here but what I found interesting about that disaster is that the company that made those rocket boosters ended up getting the next contract.

They were competing against another company that manufactured the rocket boosters in one complete piece and did not use O-rings.

Really puts my day of trying to install crown, getting rained on, moving inside, seeing a saw break, renting another saw, finding out the rented saw had a dead blade, then giving up entirely at 2pm, soaking wet and defeated, into perspective.
