There are many ways to celebrate Earth Day. This year, I saved up all my used motor oil for months and months, and dumped it in a storm drain during the Earth Day festivities.

Yes, George, I'm kidding. I'm certainly far from a tree-hugging environmentalist, but I'm no law breaker. I struggle to obey the law, even when I don't necessarily always see the point. I just have to trust that the people that we put into power are doing the right thing.

We have to keep track of the hardi-plank over vinyl guy in case he wants to take it up for a living.

Surprised MD didn't suggest melting it on the house for a waterproofer.

I guess at least they are asking about it and getting help- say he didn't and ran the hardiplank over the vinyl, and a couple of years down the road, sold the house, and the next owners hired you to redo the siding.

I cringe to think how many home owners have come up with that bad of an idea, and never asked for help, and now these gems are waiting for us in the trades to find them in a remodel.

Easy POOL, if I knew where to find some blotter or windowpane, I might just do it. The '60's and '70's will never be repeated, I'm glad that I was there.

For several years instead of dumping my used motor oil on the ground or something I used to take it up to the only gas station in town (small town) after doing this for some time I got to asking the guy what they did with all of it. Come to find out the owner lived on a gravel road out of town and would put it in a large sprayer and coat the road in front of his house to keep the dust down. Is that eviromentally friendly? From then on I used it to keep the weeds down along the fenceline. It did the trick.
