How Many Guns Do You Have?

I know I'm being nosy with this thread... but I was at the range today and It seemed like their was only either Police officers or tradesmen there, in about maybe 10 people...

Even a lady I stuck up a conversation with said she was a Lineman (union low voltage electrician) It got me thinking tools and weapons must kinda attract the same crowd.

I always wanted a Colt Single action army but when it came down to buying it, I instead bought the 50th anniversary Black hawks by Ruger (.357 & .44 magnums) 2 guns of the same price as a Colt... I'm feeling a little regret because I wanted the gun for it's 'status' not for protection... I have many others for that.

Now I have to find a way to purchase the Colt without the old lady knowing, because she says..."You shouldn't be wasting money on toys right now..." but I figure it's good for the economy, right?

Should I tell her or just purchase it and keep it locked in the gun safe with my collection?

My wife and I have an agreement... whatever I spend on tools or other similar toys, she gets to spend on jewelry. My wife has a lot of jewelry.

I always liked the Super Redhawks...probably the best shooting handguns I've ever had. Had 1 in a 41 mag that shot awsome, plenty of punch with little kick. The Smith's never seemed to fit my hand. Had Freedom Arms 454 Casull that had a little hand grip and a lot of recoil, was no fun to shoot.

Now all I keep are hunting related firearms. A few shotguns, couple of 22s and a few long shooting rifles. My wife always hated handguns. I'd buy 1 she'd nag me until I got rid of it. I'd buy another a few months later, she'd nag, etc, etc. Eventually I stopped buying handguns. For home defense I have a semi auto shotgun that would twice the damage of any handgun out there with little chance of missing.

We have a few shot guns. One is a single shot and the other hold 7. Also have a new Ruger SR-9 with 2 clips that hold 17 rounds! That thing is sick!!!

Jason I under stand that but I don't like guns anymore.

I have shot some one and beat some one very bad. Both were very regretful. Both happened in my youth


The gun was very scary, too easy to pull the trigger, too easy accidentally kill. Just me.

God looks out for fools, So I hope my dukes take care of me. I will never own a gun. My wife wants one for her protection and bugs me constantly about it

Yes. It was awful here for awhile, but I have never had a bad experience here ever in 12years. The typical stuff. Vans broken into etc. But nothing really scary and I worked some of the worst neighborhoods.

I don't either, but I like less the idea that my wife and kids could be a victim of bad planing and poor judgment.

I will protect everyone in my home by any means necessary and if need be, die trying. It's my home, don't intrude, don't get shot.

The guns never leave the house unless we are target shooting.

Understood completely. I use to go out a lot in the evenings and network. She was home often by herself. She is a southern gal grew up using shot guns and such and wants one for protection. I just don't know if I want one around

I'm glad to see that got denied. Criminals will always find a way to get a gun if they want one bad enough.

This bill would just hold up someone who may feel a need to defend themselves.

My Labradors don't bark... not even at the drunk pizza dude. nothing says leave now! like a laser dot on your chest or the sound a Mossberg 500 12 gauge getting chambered.

I don't expect this to ever happen, but it's nice to know if it ever did I would have something else to say to the intruder other than: leave... pretty please!

PS. I also know how to box.
