Holy crap, how high are they up? And I watched a thing about them on the History channel on Mordern Marvles I think. I bet you get one hell of a view.

Not transmission. That's a specialty trade, done only by a handfull of private contractors nationwide. Other than getting over some primative fears, it's pretty safe work.

This goes along with the power line and helicopter part of this thread. There was one of these in my area trimming trees along power lines a few months back.
