I've actually had a lady want something like that. Tried for an hour to explain why it didn't make any sense. She'd listen to none of it.

I had a designer tell me I wasn't trying hard enough to figure out how to do this. I wonder if it was the same person?

They are all the rage in '10.

I had to force it to do it. This is the first time I have ever made a cabinet with a drawer pulled out. The program doesn't even know what hit it.

actually I've seen this done ... the fronts are matching but the drawers are shallow ... one sets high and one sets low ... not sure how the rails were set

That's a negative, Sir. Look at the inside of the drawers in the picture. They're going through each other. When you can figure that one out, let me know. Also, let me know how you can cross the rails like that. I'll be waiting...

perhaps I wasn't clear ... what I saw was not exactly like the picture above ... it had one drawer passing over the top of the other ... the appearance from the outside made it appear to be the same
edited to add ... to the OP, just a thought, the customer might accept a drawer built like a lazy suzanne

There is no customer. A designer wanted me to do this a decade ago and another thread somewhere else reminded me of it. I just want to outsource it to Gus. He would be so proud of me

You can do it sorta' if you cut those drawers back at a 45 degree angle from their nearest meeting edge back to the opposite corner and then place both rails on the far side. That's what I did. Goofy but it was what the lady wanted and she was willing to pay so who am I to argue?
I felt so bad for her husband when I left. He was so beaten looking. Why do men die before women? Because they want to.

Easy... any famous Magician can do it (Mr. David Copperfield??)... they called it as... "Origami Paper Folds" magic!! ...(and no, that is not for showing off a hack-saw going through the helper's body into half ... with no blood drips either!)

Here's another way to do it- one drawer is a regular sized normal drawer. The other is a tip out, similar to what you would use for the drawer fronts in front of the sink.

this is easy to do 1-first you create a void in the space/time continuim so when you push in the drawer it goes into a seperate universe from the other drawer then when you pull them out to your own universe easy

it looks like it would go if the backs of the shelves were cut like jigsaw puzzles. It looks like it all ready did it in the program. One side is long left and shoots up on the right and vice versa for the other cabinet. Looks like the program took that into consideration. I have faith that one of you could actually make it work.
