Hay Y'all Country Folk ....
What's hay goin for in your parts. bermuda is still $75 a roll and Johnson Mix is $65. For those that don't know Bermuda had hit $100 at it's peak.
Thieving is rampant. They just pull right up in broad daylight in start loadin. Jails had a record number of first time offenders early part of this year. |

Re: Hay Y'all Country Folk ....
They send you to jail for stealing hay????
I have lots of those big rolls of hay near my house. Can't say I''ve ever heard of one being stolen. And I thought going to jail for smoking pot was stupid.

Re: Hay Y'all Country Folk ....
I don't know what most of you think when you picture "Oklahoma" or "Texas", but these are major agricultural regions, and when drought is ongoing for a year or more, hay is a premium commodity. If you are a farmer or rancher with cattle, and no pasture due to no rain, you also have no hay...you don't shoot the stock, so you buy hay from those who have it....and hay theft up here is getting out of hand. A big round bale of bermuda is $100 and up, alfalfa is 1/3 again as much.
You guys getting the rain don't know how bad we would love to see it.

Re: Hay Y'all Country Folk ....
here we use bails for our horses. we give 2.75 for the good cuttings and it goes down to 1.75 with the lesser cuttings. We had to much rain this summer so we had to actually go out of state this year to get ours.
