Re: Hand Made Safety Gear

I wish I had taken a photo of the painters that worked for me several years ago. They had to paint a small portion of a large ceiling in a old school. They took an 8' folding ladder and set it up and then took an extension ladder and placed it against one side. Several of them held onto it and one of the others went right on up the ladder and painted the ceiling. Only mexicans can come up with something like that.

Re: Hand Made Safety Gear

My very first contract as WallMaxx, Inc was to install the sound system in the Nordstrom's Department store in the Houston Galleria. It was all new commercial construction, POSH speakers...like 280 of them...all run to the 3rd floor control room.

I had to get my wire hangers attached to the lid...but the acoustical ceiling grid was already in place and was 5' down from where I needed to be.

My guys were standing on the side rails and then raising the lift up to the grid so they could reach the deck. The OSHA inspector was not pleased when he showed up. I showed him my dilemma and asked if I could build an anchored platform. He said build something and he'd take a look at it.

I did. He did. He told me to carry on.

I had to get my wire hangers shot into the concrete lid...but the acoustical ceiling grid was already in place and was 5' down from where I needed to be.
