Had some company on our morning walk

My dog and I walk every morning at one of our local metro park. This morning we had some company. A few even followed us once we passed. There was a nice 12 point when we first got there, but the pic didn't turn out because it was taken right into the sun.

Nice photos, thanks.

Last Friday I went to a clients house in the city and they had 2 deer eating out of the bird feeder in the backyard. Mr. Client grab a BB gun and pumped it up about 15 times, took careful aim and fired. The deer looked at him as if to ask are you OK? and grabbed another bite before leaving.

Good Luck
Dave

Why would I lie about it?? It isn't like I was hunting it and missed or anything. I just put the pics up to show what was in the park.

Thanks for sharing.

Growing up in the midwest ,my parents had 4 1/2 acres and we got to see a lot of nature like that. Deer eating right out the front door etc.

No matter how many time you see it, it's still cool.

There are houses surrounding the park, so I think the people around the park feed the deer. I was at the same park a few days earlier, and there were probably about 4 deer in a guys back yard, and he was maybe 2 feet away grilling, and the deer didn't give a crap. Most of them you could go right up to if ya wanted.

The two up from the bottom were maybe 2 feet from me. The older one came right up to me and started sniffing as if to see if I had anything to give her, then once the little one seen it was ok, it came right up to the tree, which was maybe an extra foot from the older one.

You don't know how close to reality you are. I've caught bigger bass in Texas and thrown them back then the state record in Michigan. Difference between cold and warm water.

I am surprised your dog did not scare them. When I take mine(dog) out to the fields to run and she gets near any deer they get absolutely frantic and bolt, often damn near running me down. This has happened on numerous occasions and had I still had my guns could have easily killed several with a .22 pistol in the ear(eye)head @ about 15 feet, in fact a couple could have been brought down with a good spear.

Here are two of the bucks I have seen roaming the park. I ran into these guys this morning on my walk. These were taken just after the sun came up this morning.

X2, now is the time to be taking them too. They are just starting early rut right now. Another week or so or if the temps drop off again they will be in a frenzy for sure.
