Thanks for posting the youtube video.

I have been following this project as I am an architecture nerd.

Re: Grand Canyon Skywalk

In college, I did some assignments for a friend of mine who was in architecture school, when he got too busy to do them all (a very common problem). One of them was a "place of meditation".

My design was for a 12' slab of 18" glass poking out over the wall of the canyon. I used Nat Geo pages with the design drawn in (pre-photoshop, baby). He made an A, as he did for every project I did for him.

I am just glad to see it come to fruition.

Very cool!!!

I know that the developers had to jump through a lot of hoops to get this project rolling.

Re: Grand Canyon Skywalk

I saw this a while back and was just as nervous then as I am now...

I've been to the Canyon--I think I'd go on it after some reassurance though

No way... Never. I trust it to hold but I just hate heights.

Re: Grand Canyon Skywalk

I've been there three times. The last trip I took my wife...what a mistake!!! She is so afraid of heights she wouldn't even walk along the black top walkway that winds along the top. I kept telling he, "You can't even see the canyon from back there". Then I pointed out the group of senior citizen Japanese tourists. Old lady with a walker!!! goes right up to the dge in the dirt and is looking down. "Look honey, if she can do it so can you" No luck whatsoever.
