Good Read; Non-fiction

I'm just about 30% through Doris Kearn Goodwin's Team of Rivals (The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. IMO, a very interesting look at Lincoln's life as a consumate politician.

You know, thinking about this, I have for some reason never read a damn thing in regard to biography of Lincoln. Even with as much as I know I should. I'm gonna put this on my Amazon wish list.

I think I'll have to give that one a 'try' myself.

Hope ya'll don't mind if I finish my 'present' read, though . . .

HOW TO TALK TO A LIBERAL (IF YOU MUST) - - Ann Coulter

Is there such a thing as making 'too much' sense??

Woop, - - there I go 'border-lining' again!!

Coulter is one of THE MOST hilarious writers out there. I read her faithfully every week when her latest columns are posted on Wednesday evenings.
If books aren't your thing, just go to Drudge and work your way down the list: Buchanan; Buckley; Charen; Coulter; Krauthammer; Malkin; Noonan; Sowell; Will; and Williams. Lots of good stuff.

I read them every week, too, - - whether one agrees with her politics or not, - - it's hard to disclaim her 'brilliance'. Absolute non-stoppable sarcasm and wit.

It sounded very interesting

It is VERY interesting. One of the most interesting aspects is the glimpse it provides into mid 19th century life in the U.S. It seems to me that people were much more 'alive' then. People were passionate, daily life was physically challenging and nature was very much a force to be reckoned with - not just in the natural disaster sense.

Funny but History of bookburning was always associated with right wing thinking.
I am for all this allowed. We are told that we are not. Then we should stick to the rules.

I wish that I had the time to read. I miss that time dearly.
