Even without the scientific research results, you have to admit the weather conditions are changing (and have changed that I've really noticed in the last 10 years)... Don't remember ever hearing about so many weather related disasters all over the world...

10 years ago I used to spend the whole day fishing out on the lake with my shirt off and get a nice tan happening!!! Now an hour out in the Sun and you're suffering from a burn??? I'm no scientist but something is different...

Just my opinion that there is some truth to the Global Warming theory!!!

Global warming yes. Im not sure if its entirely due to man, or just a temperature cycle the earth is going through. I have seen reports of glaciers retreating and polar ice not reaching nearly as far as it once was. As well as huge ice shelfs breaking off in the south that were in place for thousands of years.

This is my take on the situation. This is reality, NOT political and I haven't seen Gore's movie.

Warming is contributed to high levels of Carbon in the atmosphere in conjunction with Ozone levels that deteriorate the same (atmosphere). Additional factors include the reduction of forests around the globe for various reasons.

For much of this I blame the USA. We are the most consumptive of any nation and developed the technology to broadcast that fact all around the world. It's human nature to want to emulate us; who wouldn't want a home, education, roads, car, grocery store, mall, etc.? The rest of the world now wants on the bandwagon.

What is going to happen when a billion Chinese start driving cars? India, Russia and South America are catching up quickly as well.

All of those old dinosaurs that died may end up being OUR undoing.

I just put my head out the door and it is just the same as it was this time last year and the year before that and so on......but as long as someone says it getting warmer rather then colder then I am all for global warming.
Can not wait for the locusts we need cheap fish bait......

I personally, think its more of an Earth rotation type thing. Same thing happened right prior to the Ice Age.

You left out one choice global warming is happening and it is cyclical. The earth constantly warms and cools.

The ice is receding just now. That's a fact. Why? Who knows? Not Al Gore. What is interesting to me is that a white (ice) surface reflects a lot more heat energy than a darker one; seems like an unstable situation. What event or circumstance is going to compensate for the higher heat absorbtion as the globe gradually grows darker in color (and collects more heat)? Another ice age caused by volcanic or meteor? May or may not happen. Maybe the ice caps are just residual from the last event of that type. Is man contributing? Certainly. Is his contribution significant at all? I don't know. And I know that no one else knows, either.

Scientist say there is global warming on Mars now too. Maybe George Bush and too many SUV's up there ruining that planet as well. 30 years ago these same "scientists" were claiming global cooling. If it as was such a concern for people like Al Gore maybe he'll stop flying around in those private jets expelling 1 million times the carbon emisions of everybody else.

The NOAA site says that there's been no average global temperature increase since 1998. Not sure what to make of that. I'm inclined to believe that it's a cycle that has always occurred on a frequency many generations apart.

All the global warming environmentalist efforts are driving a certain portion of my trade, so that causes me to use different and more expensive materials and methods sometimes. To that end, it's good for business.

I'm old enough to remember when we were all dogmatically told that the world was about to enter the next ice age. Now some clowns are dogmatically telling me that we are about to cook. It reminds me of that Space Cowboy movie with that dork screaming something like: "First you tell me we're going and now you tell me we ain't going....Make up your mind!"

You can buy the snake oil if you want, but I figure most of these self-proclaimed "experts" are full of bs.

I just watched the Al Gore movie, (well half of it). Too much like a sales presentation for my tastes. Anyhow, my vote stays. It's getting warmer. I don't really know why. There's a lot more people in the world. A lot more cars. A lot more pavement. A lot less trees. A lot less water.

All that sounds like there are more heaters than coolers, so it doesn't suprise me it's getting warmer. 1 degree F over that last century according to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming

Anyhow, the earth doesn't need to be saved. The earth will survive and do just fine. Humans, well maybe we'll be replaced in a thousand years by fish. That would probably make the earth happy. Mother Nature likes fish, they just shut up and go on swimming.
