My reply: If I could not be a global sailor and had to choose a land position based on my current knowledge, my choices would be;

1) Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas

2) Azores

3) Costa Rica

I don't understand the question.

I don't have anything to compare where I'm at to. I havn't traveled much. I went to college in Columbus, OH. That place sucked. I drove to Cincinnati once (to see if there really was a WKRP). That was place sucked too. I guess I like where I'm at just fine.

Upon further thought, there's a little villiage near me that's nice. Newville, PA gets my vote. I don't have a clue how that compares to the Bahamas.

Hej Mike, yeah that's me in Prea Brazil, spent Aug and Sep down there, best ******* place I've ever been and I pretty much been everywhere. One of my Buds has a place out your way (not sure where) but I'll be out there doing some kitesnowboarding this winter, Man aside from working and breathing, I live eat and breath kitesurfing, in a way it's kind of an addiction , I have packed up the job on more times than I can think of on the hint of wind. Give it a try Mike there's no turning back

Did my undergrad work in Boulder. One of the most beautiful towns I've ever seen. Would love to visit the place again (too far away from family to live there, though).

If England were not so far away, I'd probably choose to live in Oxford or somewhere in the Devon area.

Canada someplace in the Maritimes like Newfoundland or Nova Scotia or Orillia, Ontario (home of Gordon Lightfoot). Better yet somewhere in the British Isles. Both of my Grandfathers families were from there. My dad's family has been swinging hammers here in the Northeast for over 200 years.

I have to agree with Mike, right here in Colorado I would have a place in Keystone though and snowboard everyday from open of the season to close of the season. cdac, my brother wants to get into kite stuff snowboarding, rollerblading, etc, he is coming up with a plan to build his own. You should let me know when you are coming out here I would love to see someone up close kite snowboarding.

I have to admit - I don't get you guys (or you either Christine) that want to live more than 2400 miles from the equator or higher than 50 feet above MSL (except for maybe New Zealand). You can have all that 'change of seasons' crap. When the day comes, I'm headed for the tropics.

Good gracious man! Just go another 10 minutes north and live in the arctic circle why don't you?! Of course, what with all the global warming we should expect maybe that'll be like the tropics in another 10 years.

Will do Robert, Hell ,we can tip a few guinnesses and chase some tail too. don't have exact dates yet but tenatively looking around sometime in jan. I think Terry's (my bro's) place is near vail, but Im not sure. As far as your bro's approach to learning to kite, I strongly urge him not to do what you described, power kiting is no joke, and people learning this way are sure to end up hurt or dead. Make him get some lessons so he doesn't kill himself or some innocent bystander (theres plenty of snow kiting in CO) and learn it the right way.

I chose where I live now, so that settles that. Florida is where I was born, and I was destined to return here. Now, which part of Jacksonville do I really want to live in..that's still up in the air after six years.

Careful ther PipeGuy!

The Maritimes nor Orillia are hardly even close to the Arctic Circle. Contrary to many American's perceptions, not all Canadians own dog sled teams. I live 30 min. east of Toronto and we get less snow than the American Mid-West.
