Re: Galveston Tx

The answer is no. IKE never produced the work everyone dreamed either. We had our cabinet showroom in Galveston for 9 years. IKE washed our store away. We set back up in another location. For those 9 years there was only 1 other cabinet showroom who called the island home with us for all those years.

As soon as the flood waters receded we were up to 13 cabinet showrooms, then within a few more weeks we reached 16. This on an island of 84,000 residents of which 62% are renters, meaning they don't spend any money on their homes. The vast majority of these new cabinet dealers were selling that formaldehyde and sulfur infested Chinese made trash but uneducated consumers bought it up. Hey you could buy a whole all cherry wood kitchen for $895. Today those who have them in their homes have asthma, cancer or are dying from blood poisoning. Those boxes are starting to fall off the wall too. Everyone knows formaldehyde disolves glue and glue is what holds the plywood plys together.

We had to move our store to the big city and are opening up another location within weeks.

I just came back from some business at one of our condo projects in Galveston 2 Saturdays ago and it was like a ghost town. Boarded up gas stations, restaurants and C-sores. It makes me sad because I love Galveston and I miss it. Galveston will come back but it is dead as dead can be.
