In A Funk!

Ever have one of those weeks where whatever COULD go wrong, DOES?

I'm having one of those weeks.

The I.R.S. owns me right now.
My good friend's car dealership was burnt to the ground.
I have a friend in the hospital...AGAIN.
I went to ANOTHER wake.
I'm worked to death & in need of a vacation BADLY.
My personal life is stagnant.
I'm in a huge slump.

Someone slap me!

There might be a severe shortage of pinot grigio in Chicago if this crap keeps up!

At least you have your health, that's more important than all of the above

Well there're only four things you have control over in your list. Sounds like you need to focus on doing 'the next thing' you need to do in order to improve each situation. Let's start with the most important:
1. Go buy some decent red wine (Mark West Pinot Noir is a good starter) and for goodness sake start drinking the real 'fruit of the vine and work of human hands'.
2. What's the next thing you need to do in order to resolve your tax issues (just the very next thing, not a combination of things)? Just do that.
3. What's the next thing you need to do in order to get closer to a vacation (just the very next thing, not a combination of things)? Just do that.
4. What's the next thing you need to do in order to spice up your life (just the very next thing, not a combination of things)? Just do that.

Once you've done "the next thing(s)" move on to the next. Guaranteed - things'll seem better almost immediately. Good luck.

Never seen that route before. I'll have to make a mental note.
I myself have been having too many good things happen lately and it's worrying me to death. So far in my life when everything starts lining up and running like an oiled machine, a bomb drops out of knowhere and screws it all up BAD.

Who knows about karma? I like to think things fold out more like natural selection. The fella that lets his crap run up his back shouldn't show it, it seems to open him up for more crap. I take each problem one at a time then scrape it off like the mud on my boots.

Re: In A Funk!

Some very sound advice here. I guess I just need to regroup.

I'm usually at the 'top of my game' in all areas. This week, I just took a nose dive.

I'll try to change things and tackle each and every one of these issues.

I'll start with my personal life. A dinner date tonight. (Easiest one, at the moment.) ..... I guess I ought to give him a chance, for once, and after all, he is a hot-looking Doctor!

Step #1 initiated!

Better tackle the tax thang, though. I doubt the Feds will wait as long as the Doctor did for a response!

I think you have a pretty good start on the road up just by having all your friends here waiting with supportive shoulders to lean on. Where's that cutsie hugging emote?? We've got every icon over here to choose from but one with hugs..lol Someone get us a huggy emote smiley thingy so I can send one to Patty.

Psst.. hey Patty.. I can tell you one thing that DID go right in your life recently..and this one I know for sure. You didn't email "Holland" after all. Perk up Girl, it only gets better from here.

I know all too well about being in a funk. Things always get better though. [insert hugs emoticon here ]

Dinner with a hot doctor sounds nice. Dinner out period! Sounds nice to me though! It's been a looooong time!

Re: In A Funk!

Bob, I'm no gold-digger. This guy is a friend of a friend, and currently a client of mine. He's been asking me out since I met him last Fall. He's never been married and has been a TOTAL playboy all his life. I always feel I need a bodyguard along on the date to keep him 'away'!

BTW, the date was very nice. Might have to consider going out with him again.
