Free Stuff From Intuit?

I ordered business cards, checks and refrigerator magnets a week or so ago.

I got an order confirmation with a total and projected ship date.

When I was checking my bank account info, there was a discrepancy between Total Balance and Available Balance. The amount of the discrepancy matched to order total. This tells me Intuit placed a hold on my debit card for that amount, but it did not process as a sale.

The I received a shipped notification, complete with tracking number a week later.

And now, when I check my bank balance, the total and available balances match, and it is the number BEFORE my Intuit order, which tells me the hold was released, but the sale was not processed.

According to the tracking number, I will have my stuff Monday.

So...Am I going to get all this stuff for free? Shouldn't the transaction have processed when the items shipped on Thursday?

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Probably just some electronic processing oddity. I can't imagine that you were the lucky one-millionth customer or whatever....

Yeah...I'm not countiong on it, but it could happen...I got a duplicate order form musiciansfriend once, including a guitar worth around $1600 bucks.

All because of a four dollar bottle of guitar polish. Turns out the polish couldn't be shipped air, and the order was being held at warehouse. I told them take out the polish and ship. They said they couldn't do that. Once the items was packed for shipping, it couldn't be touched. WTF?

It took a couple calls to get to someone in charge, they reprocessed the order minus the polish, but the effects pedal I ordered was out of stock. They said four weeks or more. I rasied hell, they said they couldn' open the package at the warehouse and take out the pedal that was in there to ship to me.

Again, WTF?

So more hell raising....

Three days later I got the packages with the pedal and guitar polish. Someone must have figured F this...and just shipped it. Two weeks later, the entire package showed up again-this one had everything BUT the guitar polish.

Lack of communication on their part, I assumed. And the guitars? SRV Sig series fender strat with the Brazilian rosewood neck. Talk about a score!!

And the invoices in each package had the same invoice number. The ultimate buy one get one free sale!!

Intuit is not the kind of company that will miss out on charging you one red cent for anything. I quit upgrading every year when they stopped giving their loyal customers the upgrade price. Now I only upgrade every three or four years or so. It will show up in your account....

SRV Sig strat-I plan to buried with it.
Ibanez Destroyer formerly owned and played on stage by Adrain Smith of Iron Maiden
And some cheapo Epi signed by Megadeth.

Re: Free Stuff From Intuit?

Mostly I'll use standard tuning. I do have the heavy strings. I am very amatuer even still. Can't play a whole lot. Can't play along with anyone, can only play by tab...

I seen Live At The El Mocambo and was so blown away, I ordered the guitar the next day. Took lessons for about six months. I just kinda pluck away from time to time.

I got into guitar dealing for a while and quite a collection at one point. I had a Stu Hamm bass for a while. I had fun with that, and made better progress than guitar. Maybe due to less strings to deal with?

Tune down a half step and just play along to Texas Flood, as long as you know the blues scale you can jam with the whole song.

I began loving and learning southern rock at a young age and have now progresses with Metal. I like to play along with Lamb of God, Gojira and Pantera for sure. My guitar inspired nephews cant get enough of my playing note for note the solos to cemetery gates, walk and domination. Hopefully they will follow in my footsteps and be better than me, one of them is well on his way.
