Freaking Ghosts.

I had a ghost messing with me the other night in an old highschool restroom. Knocking stuff off my ladder, taking my tools, and then she got the sewer gas to back up and come in and fill the room big time. I could barely breathe... I found out today a young girl hung herself, (back in the 70's), in that restroom after a stage performance she was not pleased with.

I'm sure some of you east coasters have some ghost stories??

Once in a while I've 'sensed' something in an older house or commercial propoerty, like somebody looking over your shoulder. Nothing like you describe.

Re: Freaking Ghosts.

Remodeled a 120+yr old house one time that a past owner commited suicide in. Kept everyone looking over their shoulders while we were there even though it was just "a wierd feeling" when you walked in. But it sure did set the stage for some AWESOME practical jokes. Just as every lengthy jobs are, we saw a couple greenhorns come and go and boy did they catch the heat.

Ash Roberts is the ghost in our house. Closes doors, hear him walking up and down the stairs, turns electricity off, switches tv channels...

Re: Freaking Ghosts.

There is a little girl running around my house. closes doors and knocks stuff down during the night. The only person to see her is my niece. While watching her on a weekend, she came out of the room after her nap and told me all about this little girl. All this has just started happening the past few months. Im thinking about zip tying all the doors open and maybe double side tape everything down. then we will see if anything still moves around....

We use to have one in our house in VA. Every morning around 10am she had a routine going up in the attic, and walking around closing doors.

The cool part was that every time I had someone over to witness it the ghost did not let me down.

Re: Freaking Ghosts.

I lived in a historic house in Stratford CT for years. It was named the Abraham Curtis house and was about 200 years old. Had a bare ground cellar, huge fireplaces used to heat the home, wood shakes, and tons of "history". My mom, sister, niece and I lived there for many years. We all would hear things and my sis saw some folks a few times. We were never afraid, but more stunned that we were experiencing the house. Seems silly until you are home alone and hear things upstairs that don't stop when you go in search of the source. We could be fools, but I felt better sleeping downstairs with the dogs on certain nights. heheh

Re: Freaking Ghosts.

My house was build in 1895. When we bought the house, we were told the owners Mother died in the house. My 2 younger kids claim to have seen someone. My girlfriend has seen an old lady with a shawl around her shoulders a couple of times. Once, my girlfriend was asleep on the couch, she woke up chilly. someone pulled the blanket up and tucked it around her shoulders. Dee woke up a bit more and saw someone go into the bedroom I use as my offce, then Dee went back to sleep. Those who have seen the ghost say they felt peaceful and at ease when seeing the ghost. I have never seen or felt the presence of hte ghost. The ghost has not been seen for about 10 years.

One of the resturants I work in is supposed to have a male ghost. he turns lights on and off, opens and closes doors. If he bothers you, just holler out "Bert, knock it off!" and Burt is supposed to knock it off.

A month ago I was working in a resturant. Over the bar is a rack for fancy glasses. Three fell off on the floor and shattered. No wind, no earthquakes, just me in the building. I moved the remaining glasses from the rack and went back to work. One of these days I will ask Brenda if there are any ghosts in the builidng.

The last story is about a large hotel that was build about 1898. It was remodeled about 6 or 7 years ago. It is supposed to be haunted. the present ownere are the only people who know about the ghost. Those of us who have lived here never knew there was supposed to be a ghost in the Hotel. I think the ghost is a contractor who did not get paid for his remodle work. The present owners stiffed a lot of contractors. I still refues to give them any money and I got paid for my work.

Re: Freaking Ghosts.

My brother killed himself in the house we live in. Every Feb. something weird will happen. Door shuts. Computer of lights turns on. Stuff flies off shelves. Once, the wife and I watch a large bowl cross the coffee table and land on the floor upright.

At a house I used to live in, a ghost would walk from 1 corner of the block to the other. Lots of us stayed up late to watch. It would just appear, temps would drop like a rock and it would disappear again at the corner.

There is a road in Moorestown, that is supposed to be one of the most haunted roads in NJ. I went a couple times to check it out, but never saw or heard anything. It was kind of scary sitting there in the pitch black just waiting. here is the link to the web site about it

Re: Freaking Ghosts.

I bought my grandmothers house from the family after she passed. I did not sleep in her bedroom, only the room where I slept as a kid when staying over whith her after my grandfather died.

When I stayed there on Saturday nights, she would let me watch TV as long as I wanted and that is when I discovered Saturday Night Live (1979). SHe would always come in to check on me and turn off the TV at some point during the night, but I never woke up when she did. I just knew that she had because, without fail, the TV was never on when I woke the next morning.

One night, sleeping in the room I had always slept in, I woke at 3AM and sat straight up in the bed only to see her standing at the foot of the bed as if she had come in to check on me. And, as always, wearing the same flannel gown that I would see see her in the next morning as she cooked me breakfast. It took me two hours to get back to sleep, so I know I hadn't dreamt it.

Weird thing for her to do two months after she left me (us).
