Florida

Well the wife and I got back from Florida today. Sunshine and 85-90 degree days. It was nice on the golf course.

We bought a new home in Spring Hills and will be making the move in mid June.

Anyone from the area willing to help a newbie out with employment ideas? Job? Just discuss the area??

Had to let you guys and gals know the news. We are very excited. We didn't expect to find a brand new home or to pay nearly as much for one.

We are a couple happy campers. Now all we need to do is sell our NY home and move some stuff.

Welcome to the hot/cold side of FL! We call it the 'left coast'. Let me know when you get settled in. I don't play pasture pool but fish a lot for anything that's biting.

Re: Florida

No offense Min, but why oh why would you move from beautiful Upstate NY to FLa???
I've been to Fla, in summer, and will NOT go back!
I guess I'm not a "tropical" kind of guy.

No offense taken Speedy,
We are so tired of the snow, cold, lack of winter work and lack of SUN that we just decided it was time. I have been in Florida at all times of the year and for the couple months it is real hot I will just look at my snow shovel hanging in the garage, before I go to work in the morning
I've lived in NY for 54 years give or take a couple and love it in the summer. I hate the winters, as we don't do winter sports or anything. We have a pool that we can use 2 months if were lucky. For 6 months it has the lovely black cover on it. Taxes have always been a treat in NY. Pot holes. We have no family left in NY. I do have one brother and he is about 30 minutes from our new home. It will be nice to have some family around once in awhile.

Re: Florida

Just the thought of snow is enough for me.

Keep looking at that shovel Paul. When you're whackin' golfballs in Feb., you can think about what Speedy is doing.

Min-

I'm sooo jealous! Upstate NY is beautiful - nice place to visit, but . . .

Good luck in Fla.

Re: Florida

I was in Buffalo back in the latest BIG blizzard, the worst since '77. They closed the mall! I don't know what that really means but they did it. What a mess! IMHO, y'all can keep all of that white stuff.

Hey, welcome to Florida! I was born here (Rockledge, FL), lived 10 years in Ohio, and came back to here as soon as I had a chance.

Re: Florida

We are so siked to move to the warmth and sun. Thanks Adam for the welcome. Teetor we may meet each other sometime in the next year. That would be nice. And Craig, there is lots of room in Florida for you too.

Can't wait to get the crap of selling, packing, moving done. It seems like the start of a nightmare. We spoke with the real estate here today, 1st visit from a mover also. It will be a challenge. I hate moving but the end of the road seems well worth it.

I'm looking forward to it Paul. BTW, you don't have to bore a hole in the ice to fish here. LOL
