Flashback - Aug. 13, 1978

We live in an old home. Circa approx. 1850. There's lots of old furniture here, too much to be honest. Well, lots of the older generation put newspapers in the bottoms of drawers, in the walls, under floors, as I'm sure almost all of us realize if we have had any time in remodeling. I have a whole newspaper under my dining room floor in damn good condition printed July of 1938. My mother says she has one of somewhere around here 1918 I think she said. Has my great great grandfathers obituary in it.

It's fun to find a treasure like this. There's a story in one of the pages about Rockerfellers caretaker here in Maine. Interesting. The guy in the picture is holding a gun LOL.

Rockerfellers Place

Check out the back page. Chevy cars and trucks for sale. Chevy Luv. Chevette. Monza. Fleetside. Ahhh brings back the memories! Here's the other pages if you're interested. Some stuff about new gas tank cap, Hoovers childhood home, and (gasp!) something new called Jet Lag!

Hi Res so you can read it

The prices take me back. I paid $4351 for a F150 pickup in 1977.

I've got a '78 chevy that was made two months after I was born, I only paid $2000 for it.

Rockerfellers Place

Nice house.
That'd be the same Rockerfeller that turned machine guns on striking coal miners in Ludlow Colorado in 1914. Then burnt down their tents killing 13 women and children... he did make some union concessions after that....Guess he felt bad.

I still have my 76 chev pick up that I bought brand new in 1976. ($5k and change). It only missed a few days work for 25 years but now it stays is the garage most of the time. I always said that me and that truck would go to the grave together but i think the old chev will out last me for sure.
