Fishing Pictures

Post your favorite pictures of your fishing; Fresh, Salt, action, or hanging, let's see some FISH! Here is my favorite fishing picture, it was snapped on Baffin bay Texas, "on the rocks" in 1986. That is a big Speck, and we caught them like that all morning long.

Nice. Im not saying its fake but it looks like it is. Just something about it. I do believe it is the real thing though. Just sayin it looks weird... probably the lighting. Heres an 18lb king I caught on Lake Michigan.

Re: Fishing Pictures

Unfortunately, a lot of my fish pics went bye-bye with my old hard drive. I haven't uploaded any new ones since. But here's one I posted awhile back. A nice little kentucky bass I caught on Table Rock Lake in Branson.

Re: Fishing Pictures

Just found another one from a tournament in April '04. This is my partner with two fat smallies. I caught one while he was catching the other.

But it is a Pacific one, not an Atlantic sail.

Re: Fishing Pictures

You call that a sail? I was too young to boat this one, but I did take him for the first 10 minutes when his fight was at it's best. This is in Panama off of Contadora island, one of the pearl islands where survivor was filmed. There's a huge drop off shelf that they loved to sit at.

Re: Fishing Pictures

Then there's the mahi mahi. We cut the belly out of it afterwards, sewed a hook in it and trolled it for sail most the time.

Re: Fishing Pictures

Nice fish! Yours?

The one in my photo went my span (6'5") + 17-18". It was the only measure that we had onboard and we had to release. A few other notations; The fish was green as opposed to the usual blue and round as a mackerel. It was one of the largest that I've seen and I spent 4 yrs. fishing exclusively for them out of Ft. Laud. (Charter boat Capt.).

Re: Fishing Pictures

That is a huge Lauderdale sail, and that Panama one is a monster too. Mine was a Guatamalean one, and we caught 20+ in 3 days of fishing, all in the 130-160 class. The Capitan was upset because we caught so few.

Here are a couple of Dolphin, caught off Bimini:

Naw, Teetorbuilt, that was one of my little brother's (the dolphin boys are both of my brothers). Here is a 16 meg video of one of my sails. He is foul-wrapped and none too happy about it:

Re: Fishing Pictures

Hey, I have just as much fun catching a 1 pound Guadaloupe bass in a rock bottom creek on fly as I do fighting a 500# Marlino Azul 100 miles offshore. Let's see those pics too!

Re: Fishing Pictures

I'll take a dolphin fight over sail anyday. Had alot of fun trolling the drift lines for them, just hated dragging in bonita in between the dolphin.
I noticed in the other sail pics that none spit their inards out trying to lose the hook. Is that exclusive to that panama sails? Every one we landed tried their last ditch effort before playing possum to spit out the hook. Usually good for a 10 min. photo session fight then they'd lay down on you until you got them to the boat, then they give you another 5 minute fight, usually underwater. Nice fish to all btw.

Re: Fishing Pictures

Ya'll must have been live baiting them. We don't do anything but artificals, and now, circle hooks. I would rather catch a Wahoo or big dolphin than a small sail, too.

Some were caught on artificial, some on belly bait.

Re: Fishing Pictures

I have probably seen 500 sails caught, and never seen one spit his guts uness it was baited. Of course, I have never caught one in Panama, either.
