Fact Or Fiction

An advertisement I read for a company selling a foot peddle flushing attachment for toilets says

7.3 million Americans each year take a fall while trying to flush a toilet with their foot to avoid touching the handle with their hands.

That's an awfully lot of people who can't stand on one leg long enough to flush a toilet! I've done it before, never come close to falling though. But I would think that if the toilet was nasty enough that you were afraid to touch it the consequences of ending up laying on the floor would be way worse!

I have been in the bathrooms that you need to flush with the shoe before... and your right I would rather touch the handle than fall on the floor... But I have good balance so I still use the shoe trick.

If you're that concerned, use a piece of tp or a paper towel.

That's a huge number (percentage wise) when you consider that of the 300M or so people in America maybe only about 100M (fewer?) are bothering to flush.
