Every Single Light In My House Is On.

In celebration of Earth Hour, every single light in my rather large house is turned on.

Consider it my small sacrifice.

Until unregulated factories in 3rd world Countries on our HUGE planet stop spewing disgusting amounts of pollution into the air in order to feed the American consumer, the pipe dream (more like slick ad campaigning) of doing our part to reduce pollution by spending an hour is a joke.

Earth hour...pfft.

Re: Every Single Light In My House Is On.

? So lets go back to using lead paint and asbestos and pcb's ?
Haven't people benefited from those being gone?
All Paint will hopefully be obsoleted someday, it's such a PITA.

Re: Every Single Light In My House Is On.

It's april and there was snow on my windshield this morning...WTF?
looks to me like we need to burn more fossil fuels to speed up the global warming..I'm tired of freezing my rear off. It's cheaper to air condition my house in the summer than it is to heat it in january. I wouldn't mind a little warmer temperatures.

Without paint many things would no longer exist, like your house or your car.

Re: Every Single Light In My House Is On.

I drive an old land rover - they don't rust (at least not on the outside, underneath is mostly protected by oil leaks).

My house has cedar shingles and they haven't had paint for 30 years. Am I supposed to paint those?

This is a dumb response I know - I just find paint to be very troublesome unless someone else was doing it. I prefer wall paper or large picture frames to cover wall space.

My other big gripe with paint is lazy/cheap people usually use it for the wrong reasons. I spent the winter stripping 1/16th" of paint off unbelievable 200 year old oak crown trim, wainscoting, & a fireplace mantel. Who would paint this? These are the longest clearest thickest boards I've ever seen.

All Paint should cost 100 bucks a gallon minimum. Then people would use it more sparingly and the results would be awesome.
