Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

This is not normally my mantra.

However, tomorrow I gotta break in a new tile guy.

I'm the opposite. I go to bed late and hate waking up. I force myself out of bed 30 minutes before I have to leave.

Re: Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

I have a 2 month old and the boy just doesn't like to sleep at night. I have been running on such a severe sleep deficit that I don't know if I am coming or going half the time. If I don't get some serious REM sleep soon I am going to fall apart at the seams.

Re: Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

At 10:00, lights out. At 6:30, the most irritating morning show I could find kicks on. Everyday, every single day. Circadian rhythm is an important thing, disrupt it and the body releases stress hormones which cause aging and disease.

The body is hard wired in some strange ways. Running in a group releases good chemicals, running alone cranks out huge stress markers. Caveman stuff, you can't get away from your past.

Re: Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

there has been an interesting program on pbs on sleep and what dreams mean, apparently we have 2 types of dreams, one in regular sleep and another type in REM sleep, the ones in regular sleep actually help us in our day to day lives the ones in REM sleep are the weird nightmare stuff that is almost like a simulation to help us learn how to deal with frightening situations safely... catch it if you can

Same for me most days when I have class "early". Whenever I have to work I want to start as early as possible (I hate waking up early...but I hate working till late in the evening even more)

Re: Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

Working late in the evening is the norm for me. Usually get home from the shop around 7pm I get in around 8:15am. And when I get home there is usually more business to work on.

Same here, and if left to my own devices I would be up till 3am. I have always been a night person, always will be. When I was in the Navy I worked 3rd shift for over three years straight...love that schedule, wish it were possible in residential re-model but I just don't see it happening

Funny but I started this thread with no intentions of talking about sleep schedules.

New guy worked out alright. He knows how to cut plywood pretty good. However, $18 for lunch and I don't think he was wearing deodorant.

I take credit for totally derailing your thread I guess I can't take all the credit, it was a group effort.

I was wondering, while I was working, how things were going for you. Glad to hear it worked out.

What's that smell?

No derailing. This whole thing is actually a joke (that's why it's in off topic) but the person who the joke is for isn't showing up!

and I hear he who smelt it......

Re: Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

Do any of you guys find that you can figure difficult things out just as your waking up. When ever I'm trying to figure something out in the day i sometime have problems trying to do it in my head and finding the answers but if i think about it as soon as I'm waking up everything seems to be 20x easier figure out. As an example say you and a Friend are trying to remember a old phone number for someone. Neither of you get it but in the morning just as you start to come out of your sleep you think about it and you figure it out!! Seems as if your minds much clearer and less strained as soon as you wake.

Or am i just weird lol

I'm like that for around the first 3 hours of my day. I hate waking up early but once I'm up I'm better mentally and I'm more motivated....Till around 11 or so lol

Re: Early To Bed. Early To Rise.

I heard somewhere that if you don't remember your dreams it's because they are too scary. If that's true, I'm in big trouble.

The guy I work with remembers all his dreams. Mostly normal, mixed up stuff. But I never remember any of mine.

Maybe I'm psyco and don't know it ?

You guys would let me know wouldn't you?

no it's true, your brain keeps working while your asleep, you probably dream about this in normal sleep and it makes it easier for you to remember,it even works with doing physical tasks, you dream about them and become better at them

some people that have had a stroke that affected a certain part of the brain can't dream

fascinating stuff the human noggin
