I can not imagine the pain I would feel if I spoke to my mother like that. My 8 year old heard the commotion and walked up just now. I explained that if he ever spoke to his mother like that there would not be enough bandages for him. He said "yes sir" and went back to the cartoons.

The Mother is 100% at fault.
She is OBVIOUSLY physically aggressive, Psychotic, and Damaged. That little boy is a little girl. He is "Her" in a new package........... Should a Child Strike-Out at an Adult...............Not at that age. One can ONLY build with the plans they have been given............ Sheety plans wield Sheety structures.

The OP did not post a comment after the original post.
It seems the mother is out of line and should be examined mentally after the action. Definitely improper and out of line even if it is not just an emotional breakdown. It could even be a parent control/conflict situation that posted for publicity.
