Those things are unbelievably strong.
I wrestled in hs, and one year the fair had a wrestling bear. I thought I'd give it a shot for some reason. I think this thing was like 9 ft tall and about 11oolbs or visa versa.
Now I have often wondered how people scream in such a high pitch that some do. I never have and can't imagine it, but when that damned bear had me down on my back with me trying to push it's mouth back while it was licking my stomach, ( I had gotten it by the muzzle they had on it and inadvertantly pushed it to the side) I did some manly hollering, "THE MUZZLE'S COMING OFF! tHE MUZZLE'S COMING OFF!" the handlers got pulling on it, and just as soon as enough pressure was off me, I shot out of that damned cage. That ****er got me balled up against the cage once, and I had sore ribs for a while. And to think I almost had him down once, until he decided he was not going to go down. Anyway, that was the only time I snuck my little ass in anywhere to get an ass whoopin. I was going to do it again to impress someone, and she talked me out of it.
Anyway, what happened to the pics? Taken off for being to graphic?

The secret to entering bear infested woods is to bring along someone that can't run as fast as you.

You call that graphic? Go to live leak and type in animal attack for graphic. I like...er... maybe not a good word to use, the one where the idiot gets out of his car to film some lions and the lions commence to attack and eat him (while he's still alive) right in front of his wife and kids. Just goes to show you there is no limit on stupidity.

I was fishing in Bird creek when 2 male Grizzlies bust out of the woods at 30 MPH straight at me. Luckily it was Summer and they just fed. They took a hard right and played with each other on the side. I slowly walked back to my rig. Wiped myself with a couple wetnaps and got back out onto the creek.
I usually always carry a 22 and a friend with me.
the 22 will do little damge to the bear, but it will do major damage to my friends leg....
Anyone wanna go fishin?

Now I know why people bring 22's! Discovery had a special about bear attacks and one idiot tried to shoot the bears with a 22, he only upset them.
Going back 20 years ago (makes me feel old) I found a bear in a thick batch in the middle of a field. We were only a few feet apart when we saw each other---all the stuff about not running away is hog wash, I ran like a little kid. Looking over my shoulder at one point I saw him running the other way! Not sure why I even bothered to carry that 8mm Mauser since I could of killed him instead of running. Oh well we both lived to tell about it.

Yet another reason i stay in the south. I dont like to go hunting when something could be hunting me!
There are a few small black bears around that could seriously injure you and if you walk up on a wild boar your in bad trouble but he wont eat you. Ive heard talk of even black panthers (the four legged kind) in Al but ive never in my 36 years seen any of the 3 above. Plenty of coyotes, fox, and bobcat in my back yard even but they have enough rabbits to not bother humans.

Ther have been rumors and "sightings" of appears to be a panther this far north in Alabama too. I passed a dead coyote on the side of the road today. Them damned things are everywhere it seems. And this in the city. Not the first one I have seen here. That may explain why dogs in the neighborhood get to barking at night sometimes.
Ditto on not going in places where you can get eaten or attacked by something.

Stay away from the coastal states, most of them have sharks in the water.
