Daughter Scared Us Tonight

We were heading to the grocery store tonight, had Brooke (our 4yr old) was in the back seat and wife and I were talking, Brooke did this labored cough then starts crying like crazy...almost hysterically. Took a few seconds to calm her down to get her to tell us what was soo wrong.

"I swallowed a coin" she tells us through her shaken up lil voice

quick moment of panic and staring at her making sure was breathing okay (duh she was crying just fine so her air way was open, but you know how it is-think the worst as a parnet at the moment of finding out the situation.

The lil turkey had a penny she found in her car seats cup holder and she'd stuck it in her mouth and inadvertantly swallowed it So now she's worried about the "coin in her belly" and "it wont come out" Looking back now hours later it's kind of funny in a sick way I guess, but at the same time it's not. We've always tried to stop her/tell her not to stick anything in her mouth but food, I guess being that young she rebeled and showed us.

So, now we get to do the great poo monitor to make certain it does actually pass (which I'm sure it will no problem) but rather be safe than sorry. Scared the bee jeezus out of us, tried to act calm the whole time the heart rate was pump'n, we just hope that she learned not to stick anything in her mouth ever again. She did this once before last year, she had found a quarter somwhere's and that actually got lodged and luckily wife was able to reach in and pull it out.

Guess she figures her internal piggy bank is better than the glass jars we keep up in our closet Darn kids, and am not looking forward to her getting older with the "older kid problems"

I put her to bed the other night and she was restless and kept calling out for water, I cant sleep, etc...so whileI was rubbing her back I told her to close her eye's and think about happy things, so what does she reply back......"like boy parties"

"no honey, not boy parties, let's think about playing with your freinds at school, or riding the motorcycle" good lord, she's 4 yrs old talking about marrying so and so at school, and at T ball she'll point out 1 of the boys and tell me "he's my boyfreind, he likes me"

why oh why did we not get a boy instead....one penis to worry about vs everyone's in the world.

Oh Josh...., your little one sounds like a real cutie! And, quite a handful, huh? Is she your only child? Have fun doing the poo-poo scanning, Josh. We'll all be thinking of you the next day or two! tee hee

Re: Daughter Scared Us Tonight

Well, I guess we'll look forward to a shiney new poo penny

yuck LOL!!

Yeah, she's our only child. Played heck and multiple miscarriages to get her and then shortly after brooke was born was told after some tests it would be really hard to concieve since wife had some problems with her tyroid. We tried the non evasive medication/pill route for 3 yrs to make wife better/good enough so we could try to have another, but as luck would have it these past 4 months my wife has been in and out of the hospital. Her specialist never checked her blood levels, had her on triple the normal dosages of medication and it whiped out her white blood count (.8) and she had a big list of other problems.

So was told point blank, to make your wife better your not going to be able to concieve anymore (they found osme other things wrong with her too). So be it, we've got a great lil one we're thankful for and momma needs to be healthy so if we're just a small family, at least we're a family

HA! Good one Bone Saw!!

I imagine you'll be seeing that penny again sometime tomorrow. I've never experienced them swallowing a coin, but some red fuzz from a great big Valentine's teddy bear, that oddly showed up in a diaper before! Took me a minute to figure out where it came from.

Look at the bright side of things, if the penny don't poop, she'll never be broke.

Good luck on poop patrol.

This about made me choke on my iced tea.

After five miscarriages, I have one 13 yr old boy with no hopes of more so I can definately relate.

Don't worry Josh, I can also not-so-proudly say that I swallowed a nickle and two pennies on a dare in Kindergarten and lived to tell about it. lol

Florcraft... of course I just had to look out of curiousity.. You ain't right...

I seen that last year and lmao!!! so sick but soo damn funny too

Bone Saw: all i could think after I read what you wrote on keeping the penny is that seen in the movie Pulp Fiction where Christopher Walken gives his dead buddies son the watch his father wore, and told him the story of how he had to shove the watch up his azz so the "gook's" would'nt find it LOL!!!!

If my wife finds it, that will be a great way to make her squirm when she's older...I'll put it in a picture frame on the wall and take it down when the boys starting coming over...before I beat them naturally
