Coxial Piston Cannon
I made a coxial piston potato cannon, all it is is a 4'' pipe with 2'' pipe in the center and 3'' end cap as the piston.
On the front I bored out hte stop in a 4X2 bushing and then glued in a 2'' pipe backwards so it goes into the chamber, and I all so ground down a nother 4x2 bushing to support the end of the barrel, and then a 2'' rubber coupling goesat the end so the piston creats a seal in it. Then jsut some threaed fittings, and the end assembly there is a 1'' modded sprinkler valve, with a 3/8'' ball valve to trigger it. And a PSIG and a female quick connect. How it works is the piston(3'' end cap) goes inside and then the back cap goes on, and when you fill it with air it presses again the rubber and seals the barrel, and then once the chamber is filled, the pilot area(area behinde the piston) decreases and the piston shoots back allowing the air to go in the barrel. Here are some pics- ![]() The whole gun is 4' or so tall. ![]() Looking in the back with the piston inside. ![]() Looking in the back again without the piston, you can see the sealing face and support. ![]() This is the front with the 4x2 bushing ground out and glued in backwards so the barrel goes in the chamber. ![]() The modded sprinkler valve. ![]() Were the vavle connects in to the back. ![]() The PSIG and the quick connect ![]() A nother pic of the modded sprinkler valve.
