That would be "wrapped" and check out Duxiana in Newport Beach.

Re: Costco Mattresses

Beautyrest Black is a nice line. Don't get bogged down in the spec game. It's not a tool.

Here's what you need to know about mattresses, generally:
-Every mattress co. typically has one line that doesn't hold up very well that is used for cheap customers and marketing. Sometimes they can be pretty comfy but they won't hold up very well. You can usually tell which ones they are. They're in the back and the salesmen don't like 'em.
-Once you are in the good lines of bedding, it's all about feel. Whether you spend $1k or $25k the mattress won't last longer or give you bigger erections, it's just going to be more comfortable(hopefully).
-What other people have found comfortable is irrelevant, unless they're your wife or identical twin.
-Virtually every spec or "feature" a company may throw at you, individually wrapped coils, memory foam, latex, gel, far infrared, ceramic fiber, etc. does actually make a difference, but only if it FEELS different. The label won't help you sleep.
-Solid foam core mattresses, i.e. without springs, don't bounce back during sex. It was actually a big common complaint when Tempur-pedics first became popular. Latex foam pushes back more but nothing beats a spring.
-You DO need to rotate mattresses very regularly to minimize body impressions.
-Don't fall in love with the feel of the cover fabric, you won't ever really feel it again. It actually costs a lot on some of the nicer models.
-Get a thin, stainproof mattress cover when you buy the mattress. It prevents stains from getting on the mattress which helps from voiding the warranty. Stains really do void it as we used to have tons of people get a stain on their bed and then break it to get a new one. It also is something that you can remove to wash which helps keep 10 years worth of skin cells and dust mites from accumulating.

I've probably tried 2-3 THOUSAND mattresses, including Duxiana, Kluft, Hastens, etc.. The super expensive ones really crack me up. Some stores actually have secret rooms that you need to get "invited" in to see the $30k sets.

I tried more than I care to say in the last week. I couldn't believe how much the Beautyrest Black felt compared to the others. I was also attracted to the quality for durability. It pisses me off that the one I find most comfortable has a 3,000.00 price tag.

I have to ask how does rotating the mattress help much when all you doing is changing the location of your feet (feet at opposite end from where they used to be) and exchanging sides with your spouse?
Now your just increasing the impression area. Yes?

Your wife's feet probably weigh a lot less than your torso....

Most people sleep with their butt and torso above the 50% mark so rotating puts the bulk of the torso body impression in a pretty good spot to recover. I'm 6'2 so mine falls pretty close to the middle but my short wife makes up for that. I can definitely feel the difference when we rotate the bed.

Seriously, what's $3k? I have a good idea what you spend on some of your other stuff. That's where you and your wife are going to spend close to 30,000 hours. I had plenty of customers that spent $1k a year on chiropractors for their back but bitched at me because they liked a mattress that was $1200.

I was considering a foam mattress, but after hearing about the lack of bounce, I'm not interested...

What I will say is I tried to like the sleep number, but it didn't hold a candle to that Beautyrest Black. For me. I'm sure it's great for others.

They're is no way either Mrs Cali or I bent that box. Neither of us are that heavy by no means. The box is made of wood how does that bend.

It's not bent at all. I think it was their ace in the hole (no pun intended) in case we contested the law tag.

Re: Costco Mattresses

Who manufactures the bed? Kick it up to manufacturer. The tag thing is stupid.

I wouldn't lead with it, but if you get on the phone with a local rep and they won't help, you might mention this thread which has already had 2k views.

You also might be able to talk to another local store that carries that brand. This would probably only happen if you're getting a model that goes for quite a bit more, retail, than the one you're replacing.

Re: Costco Mattresses

I just want everyone out there to know this was a Stearns and Foster bed that failed and the Stearns and Foster company wormed their way out of the warranty. Run as fast as you can from Stearns and Foster. They aren't anything like the Stearns and Foster from years ago, since they were bought out by Sealy. Cheap crap!

Well after a couple weeks on the new mattress, I'm happy to recommend this one. So far!

For the record I didn't purchase it from Sleeptrain.
