Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

IMHO, the dad is an idiot and should be charged with murder.

"Guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns, kill people."

What do you think?

I think idiocy may run in the family. And Cole, people don't need guns to kill people. Although, it makes it easier. Its just so messy.

Re: Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

The guy cuts them off, and they flip the bird. He follows them, hits them at some point. Then he follows them home, passes, and turns around for a second pass.

Let me tell you what this means from a woman's perspective. "OK, now this crazy guy knows where I live. What happens when he decides to come back?" The father understood this.

I'm not trying to justify a homicide, but a beat-down may have been appropriate.

Susan, I agree, but he was a 21 year old kid!

It was also reported that he rode by and then turned around on the street and was driving by again and the dad shot him in the back. I understand that he was trying to protect his girls, but now what has he done? He will probably be in jail for 10+ years and has no way of protecting his girls anymore and you know who they are going to blame? Themselves for what happened.

For a 21 year old kid no gun was needed. Definitely not something worth killing him over, but it would have been tucked in my waist just for safety reasons and definitely an asswhopping so he got the message

Re: Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

I need more info.
For example: Was the motorcyclist ever charged with rape or sexual assult.
This could of been his motive, bump into the car with two young ladies, when they stop they are in for it. If this is the case GO DADDY GREAT SHOT.
Why did the motorcyclist not get a tag # and stop to call police.
In today's times you don't follow anybody.
Now two families have to suffer from their relatives actions.

Yep. My husband would have reached out and pulled the punk right off his bike. Punk - meet fist.

Thumbs up

Re: Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

If he want to scare, the dad shoud ONLY point gun in the air, stand in front of his bike path, let kid sees da gun, then shoots up the sky as "WARNING" shot when he passed over him ... sure scare da hell out of him next time if/should he come back!!!..

No violence necessary, no cops/finger prints involved, no jail sentences either.

Correct at the time there is no way of knowing who this guy is.
If he happen to be a rapist, he had other intensions.

The shots were premature and there was imminent threat to life and welfare. The Father will, especially in Georgia, spend the rest of his life in prison. If it occurred in Gwinnett County, it is over for him.

Would I have done it differently? Probably not!

So you prefer life in prison. Over a asswhopping and if he was a threat shoot him legally if he came back and bothered you or your daughters?

Re: Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

Compare to father in NY not long ago. Skinheads beat up his son (black). Then they come to his house demanding that he come out so they can finish taking care of him. Dad comes out shoots and kills one of the skinheads.
Dad goes to jail.
Seems this GA dad should be in jail for shooting the guy for riding his bike past the house.
Anybody from NY/Long Island area that has more specific details on above incident feel free to chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

I did not mean that I condone or support the fool. What I am saying is that in the "heat of the moment" it is hard to say what one might do.

The guy messed up terminally!

I think Richard Gear has really let himself go. He doesn't look anything like he does in the movies.

Seriously though everyone involved is a complete dumba$$. Teenage girls more than likely not paying attention while driving. 21 yr old guy with road rage on a motorcycle. Father shooting a kid for being pissed off and following teenage twits home.

Re: Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

My question is, just when did someone finally decide to call the police? After the shooting?

I can understand being afraid for your family, but there is no way I wouldn't have had someone call the cops when I first got the call from my daughters.

One should NEVER pull a gun unless 100% ready to use it. Shooting one into the air is not a great idea either. Why risk a complete inocents life? Should have just had a sack and gone down there and gotten his hands dirty

Agreed. A firearm should never be "brandished" never mind fired unless they are dead set on the x-ring with irrevocable intent.

That was the prosecuter's argument in the NY case.

Re: Cops: Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist Who Was Following Teen Daughters

Hmmm, - - there's a dent in their car and they were, for some strange reason, being followed by an angry biker . . .

Sounds to me like two spoiled-rotten daughters got their over-protective Dad in a lot of trouble.

Now the young kid is dead, - - the Dad's goin' to jail, - - and the daughters will simply ride off in the distance, - - leaving more carnage in their rear-view mirrors everywhere they go . . .
