Cool Houses

My latest gig has me driving an hour each way up the west arm of the Kootenay Lake. Thought I'd post a couple pics of a couple cool houses up that way.

The first one is most of an old stern wheeler built in 1913 that used to run on Kootenay Lake, the SS Nasookin.

This one is Blaylock's Mansion, Built in the 30's by the general manager of Cominco, a smelter in Trail.

This guy overbuilt the neighborhood by a slight margin.

Gene, the stern wheeler faces the lake, it is just off the right of the road

heres a few links, the first is a pdf of a magazine article, the second is the SS Bonnington, a sister ship to the Nasookin.

And a pic of the Nasookin in service. Once the biggest lake ship west of the Mississippi.
