'68 Camaro RS 327 ragtop. Racing stripe across the hood. No pic as I sold it in '74 like the fool many of us were. I keep looking for any 1st gen Camaro with matching numbers. May have to go to Mecum or Pebble Beach to see one, though.

Re: Classic Cars & Hot Rods

I used to have a 67 Camaro. I sold it about 5 years ago or so. I had a 454 built for it with minor head work and a little street roller cam. Made 532 HP and 518 Lb/ft. Never finished it. I moved into a tiny place with a 1 car garage and never found the money to finish it. A guy I knew called me and offered me a decent amount for the project and I took it.

I now have a 65 Cadillac coupe de ville project. I pulled the fuel injected 350 and overdrive transmission out of a GMC pick up and I am going to replace the Caddy's 429 with it.....Maybe.

Here is the car as it looked when I bought it.Photo_102406_001.jpg

This is after a rattle can primer job and lowering a bit.Photo_112006_002.jpg

Re: Classic Cars & Hot Rods

I've got a '69 Corvette convertible (looking for picture) 427 4 barrel
with A/C (yes factory A/C, I know they didn't come with AC on the
convertible but mine did).

My old dart 340

Nova with a vette engine

Girlfriend's fathers car '58 Impala 348 tri-power, he has a collection
you would not believe, including a '61 SS 409 Impala convertible and
a COPO Chevelle, the list is extensive.

Re: Classic Cars & Hot Rods

I just picked up a 53' Ford Tudor, fender skirts and continental kit, and I have a 69' Pontiac Firebird drag car. I'll try to post up some pics...oh well, just take my word for it. I can't seem to get them to post...

Mickey, I watched a Mecum Auto auction the other day, (don't know if it was recent). They had a '72 Vette pushed to $70K+. HT, A/C. Reserve was at $72K and the owner wouldn't drop it.

Re: Classic Cars & Hot Rods

Dose stock car racing count. I build stock cars and race them. I have a roadster as well but is isant a resto rod or even a hot rod early Z3 bmw it is fast but i like my stock car and the fun racing and building it as well as the repair after the crashes. I just paced a mustang front nose clip on this 1980 pinto stallion and it has a 330 hp 2.3 liter engine cut down F 100 ford third member and a mustang trany 10 point roll cage all the bells on it one could hope for Goodyear eagles raceing tires on a high banked oval it will place down a 12.4 lap at around 115 mph. My local track is Roseville CA. All American Speed Way

Re: Classic Cars & Hot Rods

No old steel, had a 57 chebbie 210 gramps and i were going to work on together, but he's just getting to old to do much so we sold it.

This is my junk:

86 firebird, i custom fit the interior from a 98 firebird:

I bracket race about every weekend all over the state and race a hanful of out of state events to keep it different, car is a pig as far as race cars go at 3720lbs with me in it (200lbs) but it's a street/strip car and i race with shoe polish instead of all out speed.

Engine: 427 sbc, pump gas, dynoed 636hp/600tq..but the dyno was very happy if you know what i mean, currently redoing the engine as we speak and will dyno at a better shop in 2-3 weeks and hoping for a realistic 650-670hp but will have to run 110octane this time around. Brodix 227 100% CNC 23* heads, Comp cam, Dart Lil M block, Callias crank, Manley H beam rods, JE pistons, Comp timing belt, MSD ignition, Holley 950HP carb reoworked by Pro Systems, Super victor intake now fully ported

Trans TH400, reverse manual valve body, JW transbrake, 8" BTE 5200rpm stall, yada yada

moser ford 9" rear end, Strange 3rd member, Richmond 4.11 gear, 31 spline Moser axles, rear disc brks.

Last year running like dog crap ran 10.69 through the mufflers in street form @ 127 mph (had completely wrong convertor, bracket racing in the heat of the summer 10.80's. On the nitrous (150shot) 10.06 @130mph...but now with everything i got corrected, heads fixed, right convertor, cam degreed in where the shop should've had it i'm hoping for a consistant 10.50 car during the heat of the summer and 10.30-10.40's in the spring/fall air, and hoping on the small 150 shot to get into the mid 9's vids in sig.

So my guess of 427 small block (in the other thread) was dead on. Sweet. Also the 400 trans with the brake, but that one was a no brainer. I suppose it could be a beefy 4l80, but you're pushing the hp limit for that one.

This is isn't mine yet, but Pops has promised it to me when he passes or gets tired of it:

http://72.41.69.75/55tbird.htm

It has a white top now (soft and hard) and spokes, but is pretty much pristine.
