This kills me every year, I try to hint around to get an idea from her what she wants....this year it worked, lol. She wants warm flannel jammies(we live in south Florida, but this Jersey girl has been here too long I guess!). Of course I will make my yearly stop at victoria's secret as well for a few things.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas , For The Wife ????

I don't waste my time I give them all gift cards that way I don't get bitched at by anyone in the Family allot easier then trying to figure out what a woman wants . she can go buy her own gift. Stress Free that's the way I like.

My wife wont let me buy her gift cards... I think we fight every year about gifts because I "dont put any thought or heart into shopping for me" I ask her a dozen differant times what she wants and I just go and buy just what she asks for and she still gets mad??? What the heck is the deal?

When I get women figured out, I'm going to write a book. It's going to sell for $1K and every man on the planet will buy one. Bill Gates can eat my dust!

Just roll back the clock, pretend its you two dating again and are trying to score for the first time. What would you get her for Christmas, what did you get her and why? Is it that hard guys?

See you are all trying to use your big head and making this too hard, if you go back to thinking with your little head like you used to, it's really easy.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas , For The Wife ????

I take her out the day before Christmas (and on her birthday) for a little shopping spree. Tell her we're going to every store in the mall, and she can grab anything she wants without looking at the price tags. She's not greedy, so I only end up spending between $300-$800 on clothes. That's alot or crap being everything is like 50% off. This makes her VERY happy with her gifts. I always have one small thing I still give her Christmas morning though. Nothing big or special, just something that says I love you. Been working well for the past 6 years.

A couple of years ago I bought the perfect gift for my girlfriend. A toilet. Not just any toilet, but a portable for our hunting excursions. Fall and hunting season is a big event at our house, we make it a family event, and as there are 3 loveley ladies in our party, the toilet was a real hit. It was better received than the emerald necklace I gave her last year. Of course, I have given her other thoughfull gifts, bicycle stuff, ski stuff and backpacking stuff.

Get her power tools. Since she'll be pissed at whatever you buy anyway, get the power tools and say, "ah, that's alright baby, I'll find SOME use for these things somehwere".

What ever you do don't buy her a vacuum cleaner. Unless you like getting hit over the head with a vacuum cleaner.

My wife says get her jewelry, a pink sapphire bracelet. Oh... maybe that's my hint

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas , For The Wife ????

Mine wants a hot tub
And she wants the deck cut out to set the hot tub down a few feet.
My hairs are getting gray just thinking about it.

She's gonna have to settle for some boxes of pots and pans, a vacuum, a wine fridge (and a bunch of bottles), some bed sheets, and a bathrobe and slippers.

And fill a stocking with some smelly crap from Bath & Body works.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas , For The Wife ????

Ol#1 wanted one of those mops 'as seen on TV' where you don't have to get your hands wet. So I bought one for her for Christmas. Even left the ad box on the handle with a stick on bow on it.

We were both in college and money was pretty tight.

She had an antique necklace that had been handed down through her family, a beaded garnet cross. I had matching errings made and stuck them inside of the 'As seen on TV' ad box. She was getting really upset about the mop as I was saying 'open it up'. It all worked out in the end.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas , For The Wife ????

My wife is hard to buy for. If she wants something, she just goes out and buys it herself. I never know until I see it that she even wanted it in the first place. She's a nurse... maybe I'll have to leaf through some of those nurse catalogs laying around the house and pick out some neat gadget or something or other.

We tend to know what the one hot item is for kids each season, but there's never an obvious hot item for wives.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas , For The Wife ????

My wife doesn't like the gift cards since it doesn't show that I put any effort or thought into what I get her. She is still like a little girl in that she loves to have a package under the tree to shake and maybe peel back a little tape to figure out what is in there. We have reached a solution though in that she makes a list of things she wants and has the magazines to order from or tells me what store they are at. I still try to find at least one little thing that she doesn't know about to get for her. The one thing I learned not to do was not put a gift under the tree. Did that one year and it backfired on me.
