You haven't dined until you've tried chocolate covered salo (fatback).

I didn't know you could make bacon any worse for your health. Looks like something to try though. I'll have to run a couple extra miles to burn off those calories.

Hot damn i gotta try that. Us southerners will fry anything. Better than some yuppie yankies that will eat stuff ive never heard of cooked or not just put it on a fancy plate with non edable garnish and charge 50 bucks.
Pickles yes. Theres a resturant here that offers an appitizer basket with sliced and fried sweet/dill pickles and musrooms, onion rings, american/pepper jack cheese, and my favorite corn nuggets.
Ive heard of a resturant (dont know where) that will fry anything you ask. The best seller...snicker bar

Re: Chicken Fried Bacon, Anyone?

The chicken fried bacon is something that shoul be picked up by a restaraunt/cafe that I get to once a year or so (for convenience and health reasons). - Tony's is in Birch Run, MI. - It would be a small appetizer there.

They serve huge portions and all bacon is deep fried, from what I understand. The BLT has 1# of bacon on it. Everything else is also just as rediculous.

Road closed to all overweight vehicles

Has a new meaning to those that were able to finish a plate of that bacon.

Re: Chicken Fried Bacon, Anyone?

ANYTHING fried and served with that delicious peppery white country gravy goes down good. First time I heard of chicken fired bacon though.
I'm from Southern Ohio, my wife is from Brentwood California. The first time I made chicken fried steak she thought I had somehow pounded a piece of chicken dark meat flat to make it. I laughed like hell.
I'm not sure what you call native Californians, they don't even qualify as yankees I don't think.

Re: Chicken Fried Bacon, Anyone?

True, I am a yankee. Born and raised in New Hampshire. I talk like a true New Englander and live in the North Country on a farm. But I cook better than most southerners, garonteed! Cabbage in fatback is my favorite. Served with Smothered Pork Chops! Yum! I cook brisket better than a Texan and my Pulled Pork will make anyone from North Carolina want to drive through Boston to get some! Biscuit and gravy anyone? Sweet tea and cornbread, too!
