Checkers

Does anybody play checkers here. I hadn't played since something like fourth grade. But, somebody gave me a lap top computer which had internet checkers on it. I ended up playing people from all over the world. Those Europeans are pretty tough.

Well, it's a great game. A game one can play with the kids or old folks. I am sure Chess is cool and all, but checkers is enough of a challenge for a simplton like me

Re: Checkers

You can go to Yahoo Games and play checkers online against real people. They also have many other games where you play against real people. Chess, Blackjack, Poker, Dominoes, and whole bunch of other games. It's free, no downloads or anything. Easy.

Re: Checkers

Great game. With real checkers, you must jump. It sucks when you get double and triple jumped. You can't blame it on your trick knee, or the wind, ...etc.

Re: Checkers

I used to play chess at caissa.com. I'm pretty much just a Scrabble junkie now.

Reading your posts in P&R I see you're pretty good at pissing people off. But what can you expect from the only conservitive in Illinois.

No Doubt about the conservative thing. Pissing people off is a Chicago thing, I think it has to do with the Old Style Beer

I hardly ever win at checkers unless I play rookies. And yes, it pisses me off. I think it has to do with getting out foxed.

Re: Checkers

I love playing checkers except I really never play except for Christmas eve when I play with my grandfather who is in his late 80's now,and is the one who taught me how to play. Its like a Christmas eve tradition with us and has been since I can remember. We play checkers or rummy until dinner is ready, eat and then open gifts.

Re: Checkers

I can't play checkers

I "can"...but I don't see the attraction ~ so I avoid the game.

This is probably due to the fact that I was first introduced to chess...at a very young age.

Chess I can play....and fairly well.

Here is a free flash version:
Play flashCHESS3 online - The Online Flash Chess Player

It has a few options for play....and it's free [online ONLY]
