Camping

Started camping last Thursday night.
Worked Friday and Saturday but camped at night.
Sunday Monday all day and night camped.

I have not ever camped that long with my entire family. It was interesting to say the least.
For all of you who do not know, I moved to Eagle River (10 miles north of Anchorage)
Great camp area not but 2 miles from my house. Enjoyed it very much.
Glad to be back home, but I have alot of posts to go thru

My wife actually liked it so much, she suggested we camp on our 5th anniversary in 2 weeks.
How lucky can I get?

Re: Camping

LOL, in any regard at least you got some different type of lifestyle away from the norm to share with the family...for good or not so good, it's still a memory LOL!!

My 4 yr old thinks camping is roasting marshmellows over the side burner on the grill or having a fire in the burn pit in the back yard. One part of me feels bad for not buying all the gear and forcing a 2 day trip with the family, BUT I was in scouts my entire youth, along with many hunting/fishing/water sking trips and nights in the enclosed car trailer at race tracks roughing it, so since I've been there done that and have many memories (looking back I cant remember the last time I had "fun" camping the only time I would go camping WITHOUT a boneified camper or RV is...well...NEVER!!!!

Floorcraft: hate to go off topic, but i just laid some dupont 30yr laminate flooring in my living room/hallway and wondered if you have any experience selling/installing this stuff?? I've got my own opinons right now since it's still fresh in my mind but looking to see if others with more experience with it would share their views. I put a post in flooring but got zero feedback so I assume nobodies tired it.

Re: Camping

Glad you had a great time camping.

My sister, her husband and their two boys are big into camping. We are all [including my wife and daughter] headed out for vacation next week going to Tennessee and renting one of those time-share cabins. My wife and I made plans to go earlier this year and they found out about us going and wanted to tag along. They seem so overly-excited about going it's really weird. My wife and I think it's because we are cabin camping and not tent camping like they normally do.

I spent 6.5 years in the U.S. Army and had more than my share of "Camping". The only way I go "camping" now is if it has Hilton on the building...hehe Call me sissy if you want but I hate sleeping outside these days.

Re: Camping

I *love* camping!! Camped in Jamaica State Park in Vermont. Hung out in a lean-to after all the chickens ran home from the rain.

Just me, my ex and the bears!

My husband won't camp with me now. I can't even convince him to get a camper to camp in. His idea of vacation is "in a beach house, on the beach" whether it be in NJ or St Barts.
