Bothered

Have you seen the new ads on TV for the Hummer?

A woman and her daughter waiting patiently and politely in line at a play ground. Another child cuts in line and the other mother blows the waiting mother off with a comment.

A fit looking guy in a grocery store buying healthy food is upset when he sees the guy behind him with a lot of "guy stuff".

Both need to go out and buy a Hummer to make their life "fulfilled"

Why would doing it the right way need something else?

Just something bothers me about the ad. Shouldn't that mother be rewarded for manners? Shouldn't the guy be rewarded for being healthy?

I have never written about anything like this but like I said I think there's something wrong that a huge company would choose this way to attract customers.

Just venting I guess.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had those same thoughts.

I think they are trying to appeal to those that have low esteem problems and the way to overcome it is to buy a Hummer. These are the people that think they aren't worthy of buying a Hummer....and shouldn't buy a Hummer but need an excuse to propel them over the edge.

Personally, I think that you should be allowed to kill rude persons on sight, and even be paid a bounty by the government. If they are terminally fat and lacking in teeth, the bounty should be raised even further.

Do you go to San Luis Pass or Texas City off the dike to wade fish?

I saw that commerical too and was a bit shocked at it myself, then I realized they are targeting exactly the personality type that those vehicles appeal to. From a marketing stand point the commerical is brilliant, but it suprises me that they would actually want to admit that those are their primary customers since it is very politically incorrect.

Maybe they've just come to terms that it's another short d*^k car. Which reminds me of the commercial where everyone has a megaphone in their car announcing their shortcomings.

Re: Bothered

It's a bad commercial, they should do something more realistic like a Hummer driven by a woman, maybe one kid in the truck, driving down the road straddling two lanes, throwing her garbage out the window, stopping for fuel frequently, then parking next to my car, so close (because the damn truck is so wide) that I have to get in my car through the passenger side.

Curiously though, what does it say about the woman?? That she has a small vagina, or would it be a gigantic vagina?? Great, now when I see a woman driving a big SUV or a Superduty or something I'll automatically assume her vagina is like the Batcave ....Anyone ever think maybe someone just likes a certain vehicle?? Personally, I am a pretty big guy and physically, a Ford Focus or a Prius just doesn't cut, so why should I be stereotyped by small-minded people if I choose to drive a H2, Superduty, Dualy, truck jacked 2' up in the air, etc. I'd love to have an H2--it would fit me, it would fit my needs of carrying lots of stuff and people when necessary, and pull what i needed as I needed to. That is called utility. Plus, I like the looks of them better than a minivan. For the record, I drive a 4dr Superduty personally, and for work as well. Perfect vehicle for me. So what's that put me at, let's see....around 4" by my calculations??? Geez, this system may actually have something to it

I copy righted this phrase this morning, because I know prowall guy or pipeguy are going to be fighting over using this as the post of the day in thier signatures.

I'll sell the rights for $4.00 American, no checks, cash only, or a Home Depot coupon for at least 15% off.

Let's do a fishing trip. I was able to go a couple of weekends ago, and did OK, but we fished off the boat no wading (customer trip). Say the date and the place.

roflmao isn't VAGINA just a great word? When I'm sittin' at a light pickin' my nose with the windows down I just shout it out and check out the looks I get. Always good for a chuckle to take your mind off the rigours of traffic. ("Burma " is another good word to shout out randomly)
Now, the next time you drive thru McD's and their running a chicken fajita special, make like you don't know Spanish and tell them you want a chicken fuh-jy-ta. It get's 'em every time.

Sheesh,,,, Lighten up Francis. It was just a joke. If you can afford the gas,,,,, get ya one. Glad I didn't mention the bumper sticker I saw on a jeep... If I wanted a hummer, i'd have called your sister.
