Birthdays Around Christmas

Anyone else have a birthday around this time of year? Mine was yesterday (31 btw) and I've always gotten the 'combo' gifts from certain relatives.

Not only that, but my brothers birthday is on the EXACT same day as mine, so we got the 'combo' parties as well. My first birthday present was a brother.

Now here's the wierd part... my parent's anniversary is also on Dec. 20. Talk about getting all the parties and presents done at the same time

I wonder if some whiskey in this coffee would make my vision unblurry........

Leaving for one of my nieces b-day parties in a couple of hours....12/24 is the date.
My brother always does the separate b-day/xmas event for his daughter....I agree ~ no reason the child should get "gypped".

Re: Birthdays Around Christmas

My daughter's b-day is 18 Dec. We tried over the years to make it completely seperate from Christmas, but it still bled together somewhat.
She always complained that too many people gave her a birthday present and then told her "don't worry, Christmas is next week and you'll get the big stuff then"
She's 27 now, I think she's over it.

Re: Birthdays Around Christmas

Mine is early Janurary. I always got the crappy left over gifts from Christmas. Out of state family would almost always lump them together. Always makes this time of year a little extra harder with expences, but hay...it's a birthday what are ya gonna do?

Re: Birthdays Around Christmas

My sister was born on New Year's Eve.

You should only get one present because your birthday is so close to Christmas, if any gifts at all, presents are for kids, I got socks and underwear for my birthday and Christmas growing up and was grateful, as far as parties you're to old

Happy Birthday.

So it would appear March is a busy month in your family.

Why feed tax deductions until the last few days of the year <---all of the male members of our family have to learn this before the age of two or we are put up for adoption.

Re: Birthdays Around Christmas

My grandfathers is December 24th, my dad's is December 25th. They decided years ago that being "cheated" out of a real birthday "ain't gonna fly" so we now celebrate their birthdays on July 24th/25th. It's warmer, and they get more presents....
