Best Damn Grilled Cheese I Ever Had!
I consider myself a grilled cheese connoisseur and grill-chef, but my wife made this the other night and it blew me away. I nibbled it; was so good that I did not want it to end.
Ingredients: Some kind of nutty bread, browned on both sides with just enough butter to keep it from burning while toasting it. Onions, sliced long-ways into thin strips and lightly grilled. A white cheese, labeled "frying cheese", which she crumbled and lightly grilled. After that she made them the normal way, and man it was gooooood. As an aside, I have been experimenting with grilled peanut butter and jelly, and they are very good. The best so far is honey infused peanut butter with a habanero jelly. Damn good, but not as good as the wife's, above. |

Re: Best Damn Grilled Cheese I Ever Had!
I like grilled cheese sandwices, too. Sometimes, I eat them plain and other times, I do this:
Grill your grilled cheese, as you normally would. When done, place sandwich on a cutting board, and open up the gooey sandwich and spread Hellman's mayo on it. Then add thinly-sliced pickles, onions, tomato & lettuce. Sandwich the whole thing, and cut in half! Serve with potato chips! I've eaten them that way since I was little! Oh...bacon, for you little porkers, is optional! |

Re: Best Damn Grilled Cheese I Ever Had!
what about an Elvis sandwich, I believe it's a grilled peanutbutter/with banana sandwich, cooked just like a grilled cheese. butter of course on the white bread. no healthy bread for elvis. lol
i saw that on some show one time about him, i normally just toast two slices of bread, put peanutbutter on both sides, slice some bananas and put it together. i skip the grilled part in the pan. your wife's sandwich sounds great though. i'll have to look for the frying cheese. never heard of it. |
