Beer

Anyone drink beers other than the standard Miller, Coors, Bud, etc..
What are your favorites?
Any good beer bread recipes?

Re: Beer

Faves:
Sierra Nevada-Pale Ale, Porter, Celebration
Fire Rock Pale Ale
Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stoudt

Others I'll have fairly often:
Samuel Adams
Grolsch
Pacifico
Dos Equis (at our fave mexi food joint)

And I'll pick up various microbrews when I'm on the north shore, where this lil mom&pop shop alwys has a different selection available.

Never drink the bottled water brands mentioned in the OP.

Re: Beer

HAHA Im a beer snob as well.
We have alot of fairly local microbrews with great craft beers. I favor the IPA's and pale ales. Sierra-Nevada Pale Ale is good, Ive like the Grolsch. Ive started keeping one bottle out of every new beer I try on a shelf unit. Its filling up quickly. One of the local stores has a huge selection, and they have a build your own six pack option.

I like Moose Drool, Guinness extra stout, Sam Adams, Star Wheat Beltian White and Pig's Ass Porter from Harvest Moon (a small brewery in Belt Montana) and, believe it or not, Keystone light for fishing LOL

Re: Beer

We have a couple breweries here-

Kona Breweries-makers of Fire Rock (My personal #1)
And Keoki's Brewing-they make a damned good one I forgot to mention-Sunset. It's a 'red' beer. Mighty fine, too.

I think Kona has their beers in CA now. If you see Fire Rock Pale Ale, I highly recommend it.

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."
-Dave Barry

My favorite beers:
Mickey's Big Mouth
Pete's Wicked Ale
Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat [stock up ~ it's seasonal!]
"Black and tan"

When I don't know what I really want to drink:
Michelob Ultra

Re: Beer

You cant be afraid to try new things with beers. Try it while you are out, and then its only one glass wasted, or try and find a liquor/beer store that sells beer by the bottle and just get one bottle.

Buy a bottle at the local restaurant with your steak....if you don't like it, say the steak was cooked poorly and you'll get a free meal ya cheap bastard.

You don't have to buy an entire keg...LMAO

My wife always calls me a cheap bastard

Sometimes I complain if she spends to much on toilet paper.

Introdouche her to the "left hand method" ...you'll save BANK.

I, on the "other hand", insist on decent paper and actually berated the Mrs. for buying a lesser quality asz napkin.

You BUY toilet paper?
I get all mine free from the portable toilets on my job and then complain to the toilet company that they don't leeve enough when they service the units.
Plus, there always seems to be plenty of it lying around for free in restaurants and bars. Offsets the price of the beers.
