Anyone Get Any Fishing In This Spring?

I caught a few small bass, and a couple trout. Nothing special. Did a lot better last year by this time. Bass around here start to spawn soon, and I lay off them then. But I went to the local reservoir a couple evenings the last week or two. Slice of paradise. Water is crystal clear, can see down 10 feet.

Beach striper fishing for me starts in earnest in May. Anyone else keep the sticks in the truck?

I was workig in the shop one day last week and a buddy stopped by and said, lets go....He took me to a secret pond of his. I caught 10 crappie, he caught 2....great eating.

Just bought a new 5' ugly stick ultra light pro. Think I'll take the wife fishing this weekend.

In my neck of the woods, there's a smallish lake/pond that doesn't get too much notice. I get white crappies out of there pretty regular. State record came from that pond, just under 3 lbs. If you like crappies, you should try spot from the surf. Pretty much the same deal. Great happy hour food at the beach. Love them smoked.

Pics below are a bunch of bluegills one of my welders caught late yesterday, and a shot of my favorite Saturday night activity during the spring, summer and fall.

Re: Anyone Get Any Fishing In This Spring?

I just ordered a new axle for my boat trailer so I should be back in the water in a few weeks. I mostly inshore saltwater fish. I like shark fishing the most. I have a pretty decent setup, 18' WellCraft Fisherman with a T-top. I am getting excited just thinking about it.

I used to keep a rod in my truck but I never found time to use it during the week so I took it out. The best fishing here is done from a boat.

There's still ice on the lakes up here, but not enough to walk out on. Maybe in a week or so.
