Looks like a blast & no other traffic (I wonder why?)

Me I was always the driver or lookout - I just couldn't seem to get the hang of it. A knee board - not a problem

So what was the temperature up there in sunny WA?

Re: Anyone Else Go Water Skiing Today?

It was 45 today. The water was probably in the 50s.

I had to hang up the phone and run to the truck to get my camera...my only thought being was that you guys on CT wouldn't believe me without photographic evidence. (oops almost typed ****ographic)

I put the rest of the pics with the current project I'm framing.

Re: Anyone Else Go Water Skiing Today?

If I am on the water and it is not iced over, I AM going in. 38 degree water kills in less than 10 minutes, but man is it absolutely stunning for 15 seconds. It is COMPLETE system overload. Literally enough to kill the weak hearted.

Try it sometime. It is like sex (not really! More like freefalling from 12,000 feet.)

Doesn't it just suck to work by the lake? Work for a few - 2 hour or so lunch break used for skiing - then back for a few more hours of work

Unfortunately, for you its winter time & its gets dark faster

Re: Anyone Else Go Water Skiing Today?

Not today, but I have an 84 year-old friend that will be skiing in the Mississippi River between St. Paul and Minneapolis on New Years day.

He first did it 40 years ago and only missed it last year. After freezing on shore he decided it was much better to get back into it this year. The water is much warmer than the air and the blood runs better while the heart adjusts. They usually do not get wet and the suits work well.

I will be there to take pictures, but they usually are moving too fast.

Could have if I wanted to in the AM, it came close to 80* before the cold front came through about 3 PM. It's currently a frigid 67*s here. Danged cold fronts!
